Shots of Autumn

Here we go another weekend in the books, from start to finish it's over to soon. My weekend included delivery driving to the most part. Well my energy was high as the surroundings around me just fed it.

I am not going to talk a lot about my work. Instead will show you what I seen while I was delivery driving. What your going to see is the Autumn vibes here. Here you don't have to wonder far to see it. I just have to walk out of the house to see glimpses of it immediately. As the days go by the scenery will be even more evident.

A few shots above in the residential areas. While some places may be leaf free on the ground other areas are starting to collect some quantities. The changing color of the leaves on trees varies between the different species. Autumn has so many colors such as red, orange, yellow, purple and more.

There is no shortage of trees in my area. You can see large and in charge trees right here in within the city limits. Doesn't matter where your at they are everywhere. They are located all over the residential areas, businesses and right off the streets. Even at stop signs, haha. This time of year you can see trees of all one color or with multiple colors in one. Some trees haven't changed colors or simply don't at all. Seeing some green just adds to the color wheel this time of year. Even a few trees have lost all their leaves. My personal favorites are red and bright orange. Do you have a favorite fall color?

Places with a body of water (big or small) give the fall patterns a little extra punch I think. I love seeing the colors of fall again in a water reflection. Sometimes vines that wrap around trees have leaves that turn different colors than the leaves on the trees. A tree trunk filled with color is a sight to see. Usually trees with small leaves go bare more quickly. The colder weather and wind contribute to the leaves falling. Fall brings a perfect backdrop doesn't it?

I can't tell you how much I wished to be fishing being around the water. The temperatures both days was not too hot nor cold. Perfect weather in my book to cast a line. I did have time between deliveries to get out of my car and spend a little time to enjoy the spectacular views.

I took these photographs while making a long delivery about 10 miles out of town. The first two photos were taken on a small highway. Third photo is a small forest of trees in the distance just off a harvested corn field. The fourth photo is of a small farm surrounded by trees. The last photo I took as I was driving 🤫 down the highway. I couldn't pass up this multi color leaf tree on a property with just a house. These show the country side has much larger bunches of trees. Aren't these just a mix of beautiful colors?

On Sunday I had some deliveries that took me to Omaha. Around two o'clock it was slow so I checked out Omaha Central High School. I drove by it previously on my way to a delivery. This is the oldest standing school that is still being used for this purpose.I love this early 20th century style. There are plenty of trees here and many have that fall flavor. I wasn't alone here taking pictures, for a high school it has a nice small campus feel. Also a big sports figure of the past graduated here.

Well for those of you who know the great National Football League (NFL) players of the past you surely know who Gale Sayers is. If not that's ok. He graduated from this highschool in 1961. He was honored to be known as the 2nd greatest athlete to come out of the state of Nebraska. My guess is hall of fame baseball player Bob Gibson is the first. Sayers was inducted into both the Collegiate and NFL Hall of Fame. He played his whole professional career with Chicago Bears.

It's just not the leaves on trees that change. Some bushes, scrubs, plants, weeds, and grasses change color as well. I seen quite a few other candidates but didnt have the opportunity to photograph.

The above are screen shots from Google Maps Timeline on the routes I took for deliveries. All together I drove around 350 miles on Saturday and Sunday. A lot of driving between 3 different cities in two states. Most were city miles but I did make some rural deliveries out in the country side. Delivery driving in the fall here really offers a good dose of changing nature!

Well that was my weekend more or less. I did watch some football both nights so I did have some couch time. I hope to post another fall themed article soon. There's a pumpkin patch park I hope I can make it to before it closes for the season. No promises but I hope I can share it here.

Thanks for making it this far. I really appreciate your time for checking out my blog. Take care, be safe and enjoy the week ahead.
