Hello, hello internet people! Remember last time I showed you my cucumber plant? In its previous harvest it only had one cucumber and guess what, it was like that in the second one too, but what worries me the most is that the plant has started to dry out. Come along and I'll show you the process.
¡Hola! ¡Hola, gente de internet! ¿Recuerdan que la última vez les mostré mi planta de pepinos? En su anterior cosecha solo tuvo un pepino y ¿adivinen qué? también fue así en la segunda, pero lo que más me preocupa es que la planta ha comenzado a secarse. Acompáñenme y les mostraré el proceso.
Remember last time I told you that I would let you know if my cucumber plant had sprouted more white flowers, i.e. the really fertile female flowers, and well, fortunately it did. Each of the plants had several white flowers on the 16th of March.
Recuerden que la última vez yo les dije que les anunciaría si a mi planta de pepinos le habían brotado más flores blancas, es decir, las flores femeninas que son realmente fértiles y pues, afortunadamente así fue. Cada una de las plantas tenía varias flores blancas el 16 de marzo.
Everything was perfect except for some yellow leaves, but best of all I discovered this, a small cucumber that seemed to be growing.
Todo iba perfecto salvo por algunas hojas amarillas, pero lo mejor de todo fue que descubrí esto, un pequeño pepino que parecía estar creciendo.
You know how fast this all goes, so look how that little cucumber looked on the 18th of March, holy cow! It was growing very, very fast, but unfortunately it was the only one growing as the others started to dry up and fall off the plant.
Ya saben lo rápido que es todo esto, así que miren como estaba ese pequeño pepino el 18 de marzo ¡Santo cielo! Crecía muy pero muy rápido, pero lamentablemente era el único que crecía ya que los demás comenzaron a secarse y a caerse de la planta.
But unfortunately the other cucumbers didn't grow, they just dried up when they were very small and fell off, even the leaves turned yellow and dried up.
Pero lamentablemente los otros pepinos no crecían, solo se secaban estando muy pequeños y se caían, incluso las hojas se pusieron amarillas y secas.

But the other cucumbers simply refused to grow, this is one of them, while the other one was almost ready to be harvested, this one just kept the same size.
Pero los otros pepinos simplemente se negaban a crecer, este es uno de ellos, mientras el otro ya estaba casi listo para ser cosechado, éste simplemente mantenía el mismo tamaño.
On the 29th of March the big day came to harvest this big guy because it was already starting to turn yellow, it was rounded at the tip and had already lost its flower, so it was time.
El 29 de marzo llegó el gran día de cosechar a este grandulón porque ya comenzaba a ponerse amarillo, se redondeó en la punta y ya había perdido la flor, así que ya era el momento.
But since then the plant has had no more white flowers and therefore no more cucumbers, on the contrary it has dried out even more and seems to be dying. My mum and my sister say that they usually water it in the mornings and also in the afternoons, besides the soil is quite fertile and nourished, but we think that the reason must be because in my country lately it's getting hotter than usual, as every time Easter approaches, these days are usually very, very hot and of course the plants suffer the consequences.
Pero desde entonces la planta no ha vuelto a tener más flores blancas y por ende no ha tenido más pepinos, por el contrario se ha secado aún más y parece estar muriendo. Mi mamá y mi hermana dicen que suelen regarla por las mañanas y también por las tardes, además la tierra es bastante fértil y está nutrida, pero creemos que la razón debe ser por que en mi país últimamente está haciendo más calor que de costumbre, como cada vez que se acerca la Semana Santa, estos días suelen ser muy pero muy calientes y desde luego las plantas sufren las consecuencias.
