Estuve explorando en un área de cultivo de toronjil, en Venezuela llamamos esta planta de esa manera sin embargo, en otras partes se le conoce como melisa, limoncillo, o también como hoja de limón. Su nombre oficial es Melissa officinalis y es usada para infusiones o te, alivia malestar de gripe y dolores estomacales.

_{I was exploring in an area where Lemon Balm is grown, in Venezuela we call this plant that, however, in other places it is known as melissa, limoncillo, or also as lemon leaf. Its official name is Melissa officinalis and it is used for infusions or tea, it relieves flu discomfort and stomach aches.}

Esta bondadosa planta se da en varios tipos de suelos pero sus preferidos son los arcillosos según afirman los expertos. Aún así la he visto crecer de manera silvestre, zonas húmedas, zonas boscosas o en lugares donde la tierra es muy negra. Esta planta es agradable en cuanto a su olor y sabor. Posiblemente sea esta la razón por la cual atrae tantos insectos.

_{This kindly plant occurs in various types of soils but its preferred ones are clay soils according to experts. Even so, I have seen it grow in the wild, in humid areas, in wooded areas or in places where the soil is very black. This plant is pleasant in terms of smell and taste. This is probably the reason why it attracts so many insects.}

Presentaré algunas especies de insectos/bichos y de antemano pido disculpas porque en algunos casos desconozco sus nombres.

Este bicho mide aproximadamente 2 o 3 centímetros, permanece largo rato sobre la rama del toronjil, cuando el insecto siente amenaza gira alrededor de la rama, no observé su vuelo pero supongo que puede hacerlo. Un dato curioso fue ver algunas gotas que salía desde su cola, pensé que se trataba de una llovizna leve o algún otro insecto que rondaba por allí pero no. Grabé al insecto y se nota en el video que es un líquido que brota de él ¿Se tratará de una chicharra? Por sus características pareciera ser una especie de ellas.

_{This bug is about 2 or 3 centimeters long, it stays for a long time on the branch of the lemon balm, when the insect feels a threat it turns around the branch, I did not observe its flight but I guess it can do it. A curious fact was to see some drops coming from its tail, I thought it was a light drizzle or some other insect that was hovering around it but no. I filmed the insect and you can see in the video that it is a liquid that comes out of it Is it a cicada? Because of its characteristics it seems to be a kind of cicada.}

Otro insecto atraído por la planta de toronjil es el pegón negro, durante el tiempo de estadía en el lugar vi más de uno de ellos acercarse hasta las hojas. Conviven tranquilamente con otras especies, buscan las flores aunque ahorita están casi secas y marchitas.

_{Another insect attracted by the Lemon Balm plant is the black stick, during the time I spent in the place I saw more than one of them approaching the leaves. They coexist peacefully with other species, looking for the flowers although now they are almost dry and withered.}

El pegón es un insecto volador, se dice que es una especie de avispa o abeja con la diferencia de que no posee aguijón aún así, cuando se ve amenazado desprende un líquido pegajoso difícil de quitarse de encima.

_{The glue is a flying insect, it is said to be a species of wasp or bee with the difference that it does not possess a sting yet, when it is threatened it releases a sticky liquid that is difficult to remove.}

Este otro insecto transparente mide aproximadamente cuatro milímetros, encontré varios sobre una misma hoja pero volaron cuando tropecé con una piedra, lamenté el suceso, espero volver a encontrarlos.

_{This other transparent insect measures approximately four millimeters, I found several on the same leaf but they flew away when I tripped over a stone, I regretted the event, I hope to find them again.}
