No me considero muy farandulero que digamos, conozco algunos actores, me fascinan las películas, las series, los animé, podría pasar todo el fin de semana viendo películas con mis seres queridos. Pero, mis gustos llegan hasta cierto punto. Por ejemplo, no suelo interesarme en si tal persona salió con el esposo de la amiga de su tía y que su tía decidió vengarse… o si no se quién cambió de género, o cualquier otro de esos cuentos. Puedo escucharlos, leerlos o verlos, pero no suelo enfrascarme en eso, paso la página como en el periódico y listo, viene otra cosa y listo.
Lo mismo me pasa con seguir la carrera de los actores. A veces la película termina leo los créditos y al día siguiente ya se me olvidaron los nombres jejej, bueno a veces uno dice este actor me gusta mucho porque crea películas que están en el género que más me gustan e inevitablemente me aprendo su nombre, pero hasta ahí. Lo que hacen estas personas fuera de la cámara ya no me interesa tanto o me dejó de interesar cuando algunos actores tenían un papel increíble y podían arruinar su carrera por las malas decisiones en sus vidas personales. Además de esto siempre está el respeto y el derecho a tener una vida privada sin importar a que te dediques.
Pero, el mundo se vuelve tan pequeño con el internet que, aunque estas cosas uno las quiere pasar sin importancia, siempre te llegan y te sorprenden.
Sinceramente, yo no vi la ceremonia de premiación, pero vi la cereza en el pastel, por los múltiples videos en youtube, twitters, noticias que hablaron del bofetón que Will Smith le propinó a Chris Rock.
A Will lo conozco desde sus inicios en la serie El príncipe del rap en Bel-Air (The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air), sus películas tipo documental, como En busca de la felicidad, 7 Almas otras de acción como Soy Leyenda, El escuadrón Suicida o los Hombres de Negro 1, 2 y 3 y muchas otras más. Por su parte a Chris Rock lo conozco en su serie Every body Hates Chris, donde él narra sus aventuras de pequeño, muchas películas de comedia que es su fuerte en incluso películas de suspenso y acción donde tiene un hermano gemelo en la CIA que muere y él debe hacerse pasar por su hermano, hay otra en la que él es un comediante y su sueño es triunfar en esa profesión, pero muere porque su ángel protector no lo estaba cuidando como debía y como no le correspondía morir aún, reencarna en un millonario blanco que acababa de morir y afrontar su nueva vida como hombre de color en el cuerpo de un hombre blanco de poder sería toda una encrucijada. Y como se pueden dar cuenta no recuerdo los nombres de estas últimas películas.
Los dos tienen películas que de verdad se pueden disfrutar mucho y quitando sus errores como personas, se pueden ver sin ningún problema. En su mayoría son aptas para todo público.
El problema
Lo que tengo entendido que explotó el problema en esta última edición de los Oscars fue cuando Chris Rock estaba haciendo bromas a la mayoría de los presentes algunas pesadas y otras más llevadera y entre los últimos objetivos del actor estaba Jada con lo que comenzó como:
-Chris: Jada, te quiero ¿G. I Jane 2? (La teniente O’Neil 2) no puedo esperar a verla.
Por lo que leí, estaba haciendo referencia a una película protagonizada por Demi Moore, G.I Jane. Donde Demi, se rapa la cabeza luciendo tal y como se ve actualmente Jada.
La primera vez que vi la confrontación de Smith hacia Rock debido a los subtítulos, pensaba que la estaba comparando con Shaquille O'neal claramente por el corte de pelo bajo.
Esto le cayó muy mal a la pareja Smith porque, aparentemente Jada está afrontando algunos problemas de salud en su cabellera (alopecia) esto le ha generado depresión y problemas en general a la pareja de ahí que Will, saliera en defensa de su esposa dejando en claro que
-Will: No pongas el nombre de mi esposa en tu boca
Diciéndolo reiteradas veces después de haberle propinado la bofetada.
Luego vinieron los comerciales y por lo que se ve algunos otros actores estaban consolando a Will, entre ellos Denzel Washington donde le da las palabras que usó en su discurso de premiación “Ten cuidado, en tu momento más alto, allí es cuando el demonio viene por ti”, algunos otros se acercaron y entre ellos también representantes de La Academia de Cine de Hollywood que le pidieron que se retirara del teatro, a lo cual se negó.
Luego del incidente y con los reflectores encendidos nuevamente, vino la premiación a mejor actor dónde se galardonó a Will Smith, por su actuación como Richard William en la película documental Rey Richard: Una familia ganadora. Con un sabor agridulce para todos, porque se esperaba un gran discurso de su parte, pero los acontecimientos de la noche mancharon todo.
¿Consecuencias?
La reputación de los dos actores se ha visto manchada.
A Chris Rock hasta lo han tildado de machista, aunque algunos saben que su trabajo es comediante y no todos los comediantes gustan y ser abucheados, golpeados o hasta humillados puede que sea su triste realidad. Aunque hay otros que tomaron la broma bastante bien, incluso que era un alago que le estaba haciendo a Jada porque la película G.I Jane la consideran muy buena.
Chris Rock, no habló sobre el tema, aunque si mencionó que aún está procesando todo.
Yo en su posición
Creo que hubiese reaccionado casi igual. Creo que estando en sus zapatos durante toda su vida, la primera vez que me hubiese pasado algo así, seguramente me hubiese tratado de defender y tal vez le hubiese conectado un par de derechazos jejej. Pero, después de esa primera vez, seguro hubiese reflexionado y me hubiese autocriticado muy fuertemente por dejarme llevar por una confrontación así, de igual manera si no hubiese respondido “¿Quién entiende a los humanos?” pero, luego hablándolo con un policía o un abogado me hubiesen aconsejado como actuar y seguramente estaría haciendo blogs desde mi casa en Hollywood. Yo sería bromista y sé que va a ver gente mucho más lista que yo en la audiencia que seguramente tratará de bromear conmigo y estoy seguro que eso era lo que esperaba Chris cuando Will subió a la tarima, que le hiciera una broma y tal vez quedar en ridículo.
A Will Smith se rumoreó que le podían quitar su premio, pero estoy seguro que la Academia no hará eso porque él se ganó su premio legitimante y si le quitaran su premio sería una injusticia que debía ser compartida con otros actores que se lo ganaron y cometieron actos peores. Pero, si aseguraron que venían consecuencias por estas acciones, ya le dieron un ultimátum para realizar una declaración ante la academia en los próximos días.
Yo en su posición
Es difícil estar sentado ahí con todos los sentimientos que van desbordándose. Lo que no hubiese hecho es confrontarlo como lo hizo. Pero, hablaría un momento con Jada, le pido permiso para hablar de su problema, si tengo su permiso trato de educar a Chris de que la alopecia causa mucho dolor, no físico sino emocional y que las bromas son tolerables hasta cierto punto, estoy seguro que Chris debería responder a esto, pero ya fuera de ese ambiente tan controlado. Sino tengo su permiso, seguramente me hubiese quedado sentado, lo sigo escuchando, recibo mi premio y luego me reúno con él y le explico la situación y que su broma no cayó bien, que hizo sentir mal a mi esposa y si es insolente, me aseguro que no vuelva a mencionar a nadie de mi familia en sus bromas con algún tipo de demanda, porque esta no es la primera vez que Chris Rock le hace una broma en público a Jada e incluso al propio Will Smith.
¿Bofetada Real o Falsa?
Como se vive en el ambiente de Hollywood inevitablemente hacerse esta pregunta es totalmente válida. Porque, había gente que no les llama la atención ver una ceremonia de premiación, pero que seguro pensarán que la del año que viene será todo un espectáculo y querrán estar de primera fila. Entonces, muchos consideran este tipo de actos publicidad al que se prestaron las imágenes de Chris Rock y Will Smith.
Muchos estudiaron hasta el lenguaje físico de ambos actores y quedan convencidos que fue una actuación, estudian como se para Chris Rock, como esconde sus brazos, como Will después de la bofetada articula un gesto de sonrisa y luego la forma de actuar de Chris Rock que no busca defenderse o todo sigue sonrisas. Otros todavía piensan que fue real, en mi caso creo que si fue real, porque Chris Rock, enfrenta y enfrentó esto muchas veces, él es un actor que hace bromas, una personalidad pública y sabe que si es agredido por las leyes de Estados Unidos, él está en su derecho a demandar, aunque no creo que ocurra en esta ocasión. Esto lo menciono, porque con cualquier otro ser humano, este sería su actuar, él no enfrentaría a su agresor, además se suponen que están en un ambiente controlado entre colegas de profesión, es muy difícil imaginar que un colega delante de tantas cámaras en un evento como en el que estaban, se levantara y le propinara una bofetada por una mala broma.
¿A quién le daría el Oscar?
Este año, ha sido algo difícil conseguir espacios para ver nuevos estrenos, por lo que hacer una nominación de alguna película reciente se me hace algo difícil.
Algunos de mis actores favoritos han tenido un reconocimiento como el Oscar, algunos como Leonardo DiCaprio, Joaquín Phoenix, Heath Ledger. Como modelo a seguir me agrada mucho el actor que interpreta a Super Man Henry Cavil, al capitán américa Chris Evans o el polifacético Tony Stark Robert Downey Jr. Pero, por el ejemplo a seguir como persona tanto dentro como fuera de las pantallas nominaría a Keanu Reeves a un Oscar, él sin duda es el mejor.
Pero, creo que el Oscar está bien merecido por Will Smith, trabajó mucho no solo durante la filmación de su película, sino fuera de ella, haciendo incontables entrevistas, presentaciones y asistencia a eventos que desgastan mucho. Además, este reconocimiento le hace justicia a toda la carrera de este extraordinario actor.
Conclusión
Me basaré un poco en el discurso de Will Smith en la premiación. Ellos son personalidades públicas, están día a día siendo expuestos por la prensa, por la lengua y letras de las personas, ellos pueden estar siendo maltratados o humillados públicamente y al final del día solo deben esbozar una sonrisa porque sino se crea una tormenta en torno a ellos. Dicen algo mal y la gente se les viene encima, dicen algo bien y viene publicidad y muchos nuevos compromisos, actúan mal como cualquier ser humano puede actuar y se puede venir una demanda que amenaza el sustento o futuro de sus familias. Ellos están cargados por esas presiones y lo puedes ver cuando los escuchas al natural, son personas normales, tímidas, deprimidas, tristes, alegres o extrovertidas hay de todo tipo.
Debemos disfrutar de sus carreras, de sus películas, de sus discursos y ocurrencias, pero debemos entender que todo tiene un límite, involucrarnos en sus vidas personales puede que arruine la forma en la que vemos a nuestro héroe y eso cambia radicalmente una hermosa película.

I don't consider myself very showbiz, I know some actors, I'm fascinated by movies, series, anime, I could spend the whole weekend watching movies with my loved ones. But, my tastes go up to a certain point. For example, I'm not usually interested in if such and such person went out with the husband of her aunt's friend and that her aunt decided to take revenge... or if I don't know who changed gender, or any other of those stories. I can listen to them, read them or watch them, but I don't usually get engrossed in that, I turn the page like in the newspaper and that's it, something else comes along and that's it.
The same thing happens to me with following the actors' careers. Sometimes the movie ends and I read the credits and the next day I already forgot the names hehehe, well sometimes you say I really like this actor because he makes movies that are in the genre that I like and inevitably I learn his name, but that's as far as it goes. What these people do off camera doesn't interest me so much anymore or it stopped interesting me when some actors had an incredible role and could ruin their career because of bad decisions in their personal lives. Besides that there is always the respect and the right to have a private life no matter what you do for a living.
But, the world has become so small with the internet that, even if you want to ignore these things, they always come to you and surprise you.
Honestly, i didn't watch the awards ceremony, but i saw the cherry on the cake, because of the multiple videos on youtube, twitters, news that talked about the slap Will Smith gave to Chris Rock.
I have known Will since his beginnings in the series The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air, his documentary type movies, such as In Search of Happiness, 7 Souls, other action movies such as I Am Legend, Suicide Squad, Men in Black 1, 2 and 3 and many others. As for Chris Rock, I know him from his series Every body Hates Chris, where he narrates his adventures as a child, many comedy movies, which is his forte, including thrillers and action movies where he has a twin brother in the CIA who dies and he has to impersonate his brother, there is another one where he is a comedian and his dream is to succeed in that profession, but he dies because his protective angel was not taking care of him as he should and as it was not his time to die yet, he is reincarnated as a white millionaire who had just died and facing his new life as a man of color in the body of a white man of power would be quite a crossroads. And as you can tell I don't remember the names of these last movies.
Both have films that are really enjoyable and, apart from their faults as people, can be watched without any problem. Most of them are suitable for all audiences.
The Problem
What I understand exploded the problem in this last edition of the Oscars was when Chris Rock was making jokes to most of those present some heavy and others more bearable and among the last targets of the actor was Jada with what he started as:
-Chris: Jada, I love you -G. I Jane 2? (Lieutenant O'Neil 2) I can't wait to see it.
From what I read, he was referencing a movie starring Demi Moore, G.I Jane. Where Demi, shaves her head looking just like Jada currently looks.
When I first saw Smith's confrontation towards Rock because of the subtitles, I thought he was comparing her to Shaquille O'neal clearly because of the low haircut.
This went down very badly with the Smith couple because, apparently Jada is facing some health problems with her hair (alopecia) and this has generated depression and problems in general for the couple, so Will came to his wife's defense, making clear that
-Will: Don't put my wife's name in your mouth.
Saying it repeatedly after giving him the slap.
Then came the commercials and by the looks of it some other actors were consoling Will, among them Denzel Washington where he gives him the words he used in his award speech "Be careful, at your highest moment, that's when the devil comes for you", some others approached and among them also representatives of The Hollywood Film Academy who asked him to leave the theater, to which he refused.

Me in his position
I think I would have reacted almost the same. I think that being in his shoes for his whole life, the first time something like that would have happened to me, I would have tried to defend myself and maybe I would have hit him with a couple of right hands hehehe. But, after that first time, I surely would have reflected and self-criticized myself very strongly for letting myself get carried away by such a confrontation, likewise if I had not responded "Who understands humans?" but, then talking it over with a cop or a lawyer they would have advised me how to act and I would surely be blogging from my home in Hollywood. I would be joking around and I know there are going to be people a lot smarter than me in the audience who will surely try to joke with me and I'm sure that's what Chris was hoping for when Will took the stage, to be pranked and maybe made a fool of.
Will Smith was rumored to have his award taken away, but I'm sure the Academy won't do that because he earned his legitimate award and if they took away his award it would be an injustice that should be shared with other actors who earned it and committed worse acts. We should enjoy their careers, their movies, their speeches and witticisms, but we must understand that everything has a limit, getting involved in their personal lives may ruin the way we see our hero and that radically changes a beautiful movie.
