**Did you know that the world's first formal university was established two and a half thousand years ago in present day Pakistan, where hundreds of personalities have been educated who have turned to religious, political, cultural and social history.

Located 22 miles northwest of Rawalpindi, Taxila is a historic city founded in 600 BC, its name in the pages of history is Takshashila.

Founded 2600 years ago, the seminary is considered to be the first university in the world.

The university has more than 10,000 students from 16 different countries studying Hinduism, astronomy, philosophy, surgery, politics, war, trade and music.

In the holy books of Buddhism, Jataka, the university is remembered as a centuries-old center of learning. The longest and most systematic narrative of the Hindu religion is also mentioned in Mahabharata, which has the status of a religious scripture.

Those who studied here became experts in various fields, kings of different states and warlords, to name a few.

Chanakya Vishnu Gupta, later known as Chanakya, is a well-known war strategist, inventor and philosopher of history who wrote a book like Earth Shastra on war and economic strategy. This book is still used today for military and political decision making. Used in
