This week's topic is something close to my heart as I have a bit of a sweet tooth. We are getting closer to Easter and this is usually a time when we have lots of sweet things to eat.
As a young boy I would often get something sweet on the way to school. We had an arrangement with the local shopkeeper that I could take something that I liked, whether I had some money or not as we had a tab at the shop.
My favorite sweets were called Cherry Drops (link) which you would need to suck for a while to get the cherry flavor out of. If I had enough money, I would also buy a bar of chocolate. This would often be either a Cadbury's double decker or crunchie.
Later on, we moved to a new area and I became friends with a boy who's father worked in a chocolate factory. This was an amazing thing for me at the time. Whenever I would visit, often his father would give out some chocolate bars. At christmas time they were overflowing with chocolate too.
Moving on to today, my children are often asking "what's for dessert?".
Their favorite's are usually chocolate cake or ice-cream. I am quite keen on a chocolate brownie with vanilla ice-cream too.
Today I wouldnt eat any of the chocolate bars from my youth but rather just some plain chocolate would be my choice.

- Have your favorite sweet things changed over the years?
- Do you make sweet things yourself? How do you make them?

You have time to submit your post until next Sunday evening.
Write at least 200 words, and take your time to make a good content post out of the topic.
Please write in English or for bilingual posts make one of the languages English.
The exception is German, still, a post in only German is allowed. But because of the low interest from the German-speaking community the #edtopic explanation post will be only in English.
Nevertheless, I would still be very happy about more participants from the DACH.
No need to mention that it should be your own content and please always source your own or free-to-use photos properly.
