Before now I have been considering the possibility of adding a few more certifications to my curriculum vitae, not necessarily for the sake of academic pursuit, even though I would definitely be furthering my education beyond my current educational achievement.
My primary purpose for the additional certifications was to first of all stay relevant in the career space. Secondly, I wanted to expand my intellectual horizon and knowledge base. The third reason is I want to upskill so that I can be fit for employment in virtual spaces. Lastly, I have this business of my dreams I have always wanted to go into, so I felt bagging a certain relevant certification would better position me to excel in that particular business of my dreams. With all this in view, I made up my mind that 2025 would be my academic year, the year I check off some items on my academic to-do list.
At the beginning of the year, I took time out to research online platforms I could leverage to achieve my set goals.
After which I applied for the first program, though it was a bit stressful for me, but to be candid, I enjoyed the entire experience; it was a learning curve for me. The switch from a conventional classroom I had been used to from my elementary school up until my tertiary education to a virtual classroom where you get to meet and become friends or acquaintances with people you may never get to see physically was a mind-blowing stretch for me.
I am happy that before June I had two certifications to myself and am super proud of myself. I am also planning on going for another course before the year runs out God's willing.
