Who doesn't like an Ed Sheeran song right?!?
This man has the unique talent of writing lovesong after lovesong and the one is more successful and beautiful than the other. And every single time I think to myself THIS is the best one by far! ... and then BANG...out comes another hit. I'm not going to lie that, I am very jealous of his songwriting skills
One of my all-time favorite Ed songs is Photogragh. The melody is haunting, the lyrics are relatable and touching, and then that fuzzy feeling you get when the song builds up in the middle...goosebumps all over every singe time.
But what makes this song so unique?
This beautiful love song uses photography to represent and portray love, hope, memories, healing and compassion.
Ed wrote this song on tour in 2012 for his (then) girlfriend Nina Nesbitt who he had a long distance relationship with. This song describes the raw feeling of love and longing so beautifully, holding on to love through photos and memories together. I envision opening an old vintage photo lock necklace with a beautiful photo of a loved one or precious memory inside. Being once in a 5 year long distance relationship myself I know the heartache that goes with it and perhaps that's the reason why myself and so many others love this song. We can all relate to that numbing feeling not being with the person you love.
Ed co-wrote this song together with English singer-songwriter Johnny Mcdaid who is a member of the band Snow Patrol.
I love playing any Ed Sheeran song. His melodies are perfect for the violin and everyone always enjoys listening.
I hope you enjoy my cover and please don't forget to let me know what you think of it.
Happy listening!

Lyrics:
Loving can hurt, loving can hurt sometimes
But it's the only thing that I know
When it gets hard, you know it can get hard sometimes
It is the only thing makes us feel alive
We keep this love in a photograph
We made these memories for ourselves
Where our eyes are never closing
Hearts are never broken
And time's forever frozen, still
So you can keep me
Inside the pocket of your ripped jeans
Holding me closer 'til our eyes meet
You won't ever be alone, wait for me to come home
Loving can heal, loving can mend your soul
And it's the only thing that I know, know
I swear it will get easier
Remember that with every piece of ya
Hmm, and it's the only thing we take with us when we die
Hmm, we keep this love in a photograph
We made these memories for ourselves
Where our eyes are never closing
Hearts were never broken
And time's forever frozen, still
So you can keep me
Inside the pocket of your ripped jeans
Holding me closer 'til our eyes meet
You won't ever be alone
And if you hurt me
That's okay, baby, only words bleed
Inside these pages, you just hold me
And I won't ever let you go
Wait for me to come home
Wait for me to come home
Wait for me to come home
Wait for me to come home
Oh, you can fit me
Inside the necklace you got when you were sixteen
Next to your heartbeat where I should be
Keep it deep within your soul
And if you hurt me
Well, that's okay, baby, only words bleed
Inside these pages, you just hold me
And I won't ever let you go
When I'm away, I will remember how you kissed me
Under the lamppost back on Sixth street
Hearing you whisper through the phone
"Wait for me to come home"
