Witnessing A Prelude to Forever: My Journey of Being A Maid of Honor// Part 1

Another day for sharing a memorable experience. Good day Hivers! May you all be doing well and filled with happiness. What I'm about to share to you all is an experience that's been important to me and to my family .I always dreamed of attending a wedding, when I was a child it would bring me great pleasure if I was invited to become a couple's flower girl because I like the idea of dispersing flowers through the aisle. It made me feel really special and I feel so happy whenever I witness a lovers tying the knot.

My Aunt had always been single for her entire 33 years of existence, I've witnessed how she prioritizes her family first and to devote herself with work, her life only revolved around these two precious things for her but despite being in a due to the calendar, she's a hopeless romantic who had also been dreaming of having someone that will stay by her side throughout the years and to have someone whom she can pour out her love, that leads her into meeting her groom to be.

Her lover was a kind of person that is polar opposite to her, My Aunt is very independent and strict while the person she fell in love with is indulgent and has an easygoing personality. At first, I still couldn't process how the two became together for I know very well that my Aunt is someone who always wanted to do things her way and she always had this scary aura whenever she was mad, it's a mystery to me how did she fell in love with him but as I've encountered her groom to be for many times I've realized that she found the one who will understand and love her all throughout her life. Her soon-to-be wedded husband is so kind and forgiving and he always had the patience to stand whenever my Aunt would display her temperaments.

They were both of legal age that's why as soon as they reached the anniversary of being a couple, they quickly planned to settle down each having a wedding in the church required a lot of patience and for both of them, They still needed to get a lot of documents and they need to get through a lot of seminars, it sounds like a pain but then both of them are eager to follow what their heart wants that's why even if it takes months to get things done, they still do it without complaining. As soon as they've got the papers and arranged the schedule for the wedding they now move with the real and arduous preparation for the reception and the whole entourage of the wedding.

I want to try to be part of the entourage, the thought of it excites me and I was more than happy when I found out that I'll be one of the maid of honor. Though it may sound strange to some normally, it only requires one but then my Aunt made it happen for me to be part of it. I even searched through the internet what are roles of being a Maid of Honor since it would be my first time and at some point I was stressed out knowing that being one requires effort and I need to be fully capable of supporting the bride throughout the process. I had my doubts but then I thought that this chance wouldn't come to often for me to decline it, I realized that I should just try and show what I'm capable of doing and try to do my best to fulfill my role.

Once the whole entourage was decided, we now move on to the fitting of dress. The Bridal Boutique/ Shop that my Aunt has chosen was Viela and Tiara Bridals. It was located at 2nd floor, Z Plaza Building D. Jakosalem Street Barangay Zapatera, Cebu City. It has an affordable rental dresses which best caters our needs.

As my Aunt was still choosing what would like best, the other employees assisted me in fitting my dress, the themed color was Burgundy. I immediately liked the dress because I thought it suited me and I liked the whole details of it.

The wedding dress that my Aunt had chosen, seems really nice and I know it will suit her.Now that everything has been set: the wedding date, reception, catering, dress, etc. All that needs to be done is to have the wedding itself. Along with the wedding, we also took the pre-nup and post-nuptials shots. Everything has been quite a memory for me. A memory that is great and surely adds up to an unforgettable experience.

A role model that's what my Aunt means to me, I've treated her as my second mother who never failed to give me guidance every now and then, and as a celebration for her upcoming wedding she had been given a bridal shower by her friends.

I would like to share the whole happenings of the wedding on my next blog, so I hope that you'll stay tuned and wait for it. That's all, Sayoñara Hivers! Thank you for reading
