This week has one of those tricky rules of combat. When I was a beginner, I was confused as to why there is such a rule of combat. Your monster got damaged, an effect was applied but nothing happened. That was my initial reaction when I played Tis But Scratches.

Eventually, I learned the reason why this one is impactful. Reducing max health also reduces the heals your monster gets. That's why you should avoid using heal strategies in this rule of combat.

Fire Splinter is good in that reign. They don't rely on heals and simply just raw stats. This is one good way to work around this and as you can see in this battle, they pack more punch than they look.

Tarsa is a Rare summoner from the Chaos Legion Series.

Level 8 Rare summoners allow the use of:
Level 4 Legendary monsters;
Level 6 Epic monsters;
Level 8 Rare monsters;
Level 10 Common monsters.

She's really good with Fire Splinter due to the abilities that increases this Splinter's strengths. Instead of fixing the weakness, just focus on increasing their health and damage more so they die faster.

+1 melee. [Stat Modifier] Positive Status] All friendly monsters has their Melee Damage increased by 1.

Fire Splinters and melee monsters go hand in hand. That's why the extra melee damage is very good. Fire Splinter also have a lot of melee monsters with Opportunity or Sneak ability giving you some sort of flexibility on your picks while abusing the extra damage Tarsa gives.

+1 Health. [Stat Modifier] Positive Status] All friendly monsters has their Max Health increased by 1.

Tarsa's extra max health is a good counter against Cripple ability. It reduces the max health when damaged giving you a free instance of nullification. This would be very good as these kind of stat changing abilities actually can stack.

Gobalano Soldier may not give the best stats but being a melee Sneak monster is all you need for him. This makes him very compatible with Tarsa and other monsters with Inspire fixing his low damage.

At level 1, Sneak is unlocked. [Target Modifier] The attack priority of this monster's attack is changed to "The opponent's monster that is on the last position."

Sneak allows this monster to attack from any position despite being melee monster. The catch is that his attacks will prioritize the opponent's last positioned monster kind of producing a flank strategy where you can attack from both front and back at the same time.

At level 1, Ambush is unlocked. [Attack Modifier] This monster can attack once before the start of the round. Effects upon damage may also apply.

Ambush is a good ability especially for Tis But Scratches. It gives this monster an extra attack at the very start and when hit, already applying the Cripple ability. Since Gobalano Soldier has Sneak ability, he would also do a Sneak Ambush attack.

At level 5, Shatter is unlocked. [Damage] Remove excess armor after this monster hits the opponent.

Shatter, to me, is not as good for melee monsters. The armor gets attacked first and Shatter ability applies afterwards to the excess armor. That's why I don't really prioritize this monster's max level. While it can help in some situations, overall, it won't.

Tis But Scratches Rules of Combat Tips: Cripple ability counters Taunt monsters and Heal based lineups. The lower your max health, the lower the restoration that monster will get from Heal, Tank Heal or Triage. You can counter this rule of combat by using Life Leech, Scavenger or other abilities that may increase your monster's max health.

Tarsa: Tarsa works really well in this full melee lineup. She increases both max health and damage making her really useful in lineups like this.

1. Tusk the Wide: Not only he can help with defending against magic damage, he also has Inspire ability which also increases the team's melee damage.
2. Torch the Vizier: A very cheap to rent or own monster. She has high damage even at early levels. Remember to use a level 2 as this gives access to an extra melee damage.
3. Gobalano Soldier: Low mana cost melee monster with Sneak and Ambush abilities at level 1. Don't be deceived with his low base damage as in this team, he wouild always pack a punch.
4. Scorch Fiend: Free mana cost monster with an extra Demoralize. No reason not to add it when you can.
5. Tenyii Striker: A staple for Fire Splinter. High damage, high speed and a Sneak ability with melee damage. He's the full package for Fire Splinter.
6. Uraeus: He's like a lesser version of Tenyii Striker. I always put him on the last position because of that extra armor that can block one instance of melee Sneak damage.

Yes. The combination of high damage and high speed allowed my team to quickly take out two important monsters from the opponent's side. Tis But Scratches wasn't able to shine too much because my Sneak monsters quickly eliminated the opponent's healer.

None. This is my usual lineup for Fire Splinter and I think they are quite good. I also had limited mana cap this battle making my choices a bit limited.

Tarsa and Gobalano Soldier in Tis But Scratches Rules of Combat

? 𝑾𝒉𝒚 𝒐𝒓 𝑾𝒉𝒚 𝒏𝒐𝒕? 🔸

It's not that the rule of combat is bad but it's because the damage of Fire Splinters are quite high that it doesn't really matter if I cripple the opponents. Just tlike what happened with Pelacor Arbalest and Venari Crystalsmith, they just simply died after a few attacks.
