It may sound like a expression, but music definitely helps to relieve my mood and counter balance of my bad day. I turn on the songs that come to my head while in queue and suddenly my easily irritable state changes for the better. They say that melodies and lyrics are like food for the spirit.
The thumping bass and a strong voice are able to strike a chord in me and enable as release emotion of negative forces within me. It may be a fast paced pop track, a calming orchestral composition, or a soft romantic song any form of art depicted through sound always touches a cord somewhere deep down my heart and makes me felt.
Because of this I also catch myself from time to time singing or dancing to the music as if I have forgotten about everything and in fact I live for the present only. The pulse and the sounds fill up with a calm and a pleasure that is beyond any most worse state of affairs I could get into music brings me some level of distraction which lasts shortly allowing me to engage my imagination. The tunes create broad landscapes in my head and build a sweet vacation in me.
Not simply listening to music, playing an instrument or singing along can be a positive outlet as well. To engage in a music activity brings me a relief from depression or a bad economic loss without drugs or alcohol on hand, allowing me to shape into something valuable what otherwise would have been just a bad day.
Therefore, I can say music extremely helps me in balancing my mental state. It can even lift my spirits from the most bottom depressive states, which lets me know that there is always something beautiful in this world and something to rejoice in.
