Discography was originally formed in the 1930s by collectors of jazz records. The Disco a place frequented in our youth, entertainment, refreshments, dancing, meet up to chat to friends. Live bands locally often booked to enjoy, or a DJ (Disc Jockey) played recorded popular music.
Lets spin our three tune Tuesday discs from some I still enjoy, how many do you know or remember, perhaps a first to enjoy!
The Tremeloes "Silence Is Golden" released earlier than my years of Disco visits. A slow dance I most probably heard many years later that brought back memories of a place called "The Green Door", why these names, who knows it was somewhere to enjoy meeting other people, actually talk and yes you guessed dance.
The Contours "Do You Love Me" A hit on the floor to jive and do a jig to on the floor, plenty of exercise in dancing, don't forget to get the edge of this life style today and swing those hips even if they croak, groan and moan.
Abba - "Dancing Queen" Who could forget the fun watching this group develop into a worldwide sensation? Sure to be a hit for many today topping charts with music for a few years. Winning Eurovision Song Contest their music on every hit parade, needless to say straight into nightclubs of the day.
Ending with a song simplicity of fun back in the days, yes we have so much to share!
