When it Rains #204

Good afternoon, beautiful women of Hive! I hope you all had a wonderful weekend filled with rest, relaxation, and fun. This week's contest is quite interesting as it explores our moods when it rains.

A big shoutout to @ifarmgirl, it's been a while since I heard from you. Cheers, sis!

We all know that rain is something we can't control; it happens when water in the atmosphere condenses. Sometimes, it falls when I expect it, and other times, it catches me by surprise. Let me share how I feel during these moments and how I navigate through them.

I usually enjoy rainfall at night, especially after a long, stressful day. I love being in bed with my kids during a downpour. The sound of heavy rain makes sleep even more enjoyable. But if I can't sleep, watching a movie is my favorite thing to do. I just put on my headset, pick a movie, and enjoy the cool.

On the other hand, there are times when I don't expect the rain and get caught in it. Those moments can be quite frustrating because I often end up drenched.

For instance, this week, on my way to work in the morning, I noticed the clouds looked unfriendly, so I quickly dropped my kids off at school and rushed to work. And guess what? BOOM! It started raining heavily.

The first thing I did was protect my phone because repairing a faulty Android phone is very expensive in my area, and I am not ready for that kind of expense. That’s why I do everything possible to keep my device safe, even if it means avoiding movement in the rain.

I had to take shelter in a nearby shop, but despite that, I still got drenched by the swaying rainfall. It’s usually a sad experience, but sometimes you just can't help it. The cold feeling when you're unprepared makes it a definite no for me.

I usually carry an umbrella, but I've noticed that the intensity of the rain these days requires extra caution. The streets get flooded easily, especially the road to my workplace, which is prone to flooding because there are little to no proper drainage systems. This was what made me pen down a post of mine. You can find it here. Link

You often end up stepping into dirty water that has swept through the streets, making it an even less pleasant experience.

Regarding the contest, my mood depends on when the rain falls. If it rains when I’m already in bed, watching a movie is my go-to activity. I love streaming on Netflix, especially romantic movies that make the rainy night even cozier.

However, if it rains when I'm on my way to work, the experience is far from pleasant. The cold and wet conditions are never fun, especially when I’m unprepared meaning I stepped out without an umbrella. I think this will be no problem when I have a car of my own and I wouldn’t encounter much of it.

Thanks for reading, and until I come your way again, much love, ladies! I love you all. Bye!
