Lonely People More Likely To Die Prematurely

Researchers have found that loneliness is just as lethal as smoking 15 cigarettes per day. Lonely people are 50 percent more likely to die prematurely than those with healthy social relationships.

Loneliness is the state of distress or discomfort that results when one perceives a gap between one's desires for social connection and actual experiences of it.
