Today is actually the first time to make a post in the community. I wish to enjoy my stay here in the @ecotrain community and enjoy myself and together we will all be contributing our experiences about life. Today, I will be talking about flooding, how it penetrated into people’s compounds, and the cause.
Hoy es en realidad la primera vez que hago una publicación en la comunidad. Deseo disfrutar mi estadía aquí en la comunidad de @ecotrain y disfrutar y juntos todos estaremos aportando nuestras experiencias de vida. Hoy hablaré sobre las inundaciones, cómo penetraron en los recintos de las personas y la causa.
Flooding is one of the things that everyone will always like not to witness because it’s always disastrous to humans and their surroundings. Flooding usually occurs whenever a close river is filled by water and then passes through its river bank flow. The result of a river being filled with rainwater will make the river always find its way to bushes, forests, and many others. By so doing, the river will also penetrate into human surroundings thereby causing damage to properties, planted crops, and even death among people.
Las inundaciones son una de las cosas que a todos siempre less gustará no presenciar porque siempre son desastrosas para los humanos y su entorno. Las inundaciones generalmente ocurren cuando un río cercano se llena de agua y luego pasa a través del flujo de la orilla del río. El resultado de que un río se llene de agua de lluvia hará que el río siempre encuentre su camino hacia arbustos, bosques y muchos otros. Al hacerlo, el río también penetrará en el entorno humano causando daños a las propiedades, cultivos e incluso la muerte entre las personas.
Flooding is one of the things that I am always scared of in life because of its disastrous outcome whenever it happens. The worst is that flooding happens without signs or where it could hit. Imagine the high rate of flooding in Nigeria and the life and properties that it has taken away this year.
Las inundaciones son una de las cosas que siempre me asustan en la vida debido a su desastroso resultado cada vez que sucede. Lo peor es que las inundaciones ocurren sin señales ni dónde podría impactar. Imagine la alta tasa de inundaciones en Nigeria y la vida y las propiedades que se ha llevado este año.
Today, I woke up this morning and noticed that there was heavy rainfall last night within my location in Benue state Nigeria. When I decided to go get something from a nearby shop where they sell food items, I noticed that everywhere was flooded with water and that there was no road to live my compound.
Hoy, me desperté esta mañana y noté que hubo fuertes lluvias anoche dentro de mi ubicación en el estado de Benue, Nigeria. Cuando decidí ir a comprar algo a una tienda cercana donde venden alimentos, noté que todo estaba inundado de agua y que no había camino para vivir en mi recinto.
Do you know that when I forced myself outside the house by folding my trouser just to go get the things I wanted to get outside for food, I also noticed that the shops that sell food items close to my house were all covered with water caused by flooding to an extent that the flood penetrated inside the shops and float some items away?
¿Sabes que cuando me obligué a salir de la casa doblando mi pantalón solo para ir a buscar las cosas que quería sacar afuera para comer, también noté que las tiendas que venden alimentos cerca de mi casa estaban todas cubiertas de agua causada por inundando hasta el punto de que la inundación penetró dentro de las tiendas y flotó algunos artículos?
I was surprised to see such flooding and was wondering how the river close by was filled up last night. I decided to take work to have more views about the flood when I was walking around, I also noticed that most student hostels/lodges were all flooded with water by entering inside their rooms. The problem here is that all Federal and State Universities in Nigeria have been on strike for the past six months and all these students that own the rooms that water entered inside all traveled.
Me sorprendió ver tanta inundación y me preguntaba cómo se llenó el río cercano anoche. Decidí trabajar para tener más vistas sobre la inundación cuando estaba caminando, también noté que la mayoría de los albergues/albergues de estudiantes estaban todos inundados de agua al entrar en sus habitaciones. El problema aquí es que todas las universidades federales y estatales de Nigeria han estado en huelga durante los últimos seis meses y todos estos estudiantes que son dueños de las habitaciones en las que entró agua, todos viajaron.
When I noticed that most of these students that flooded entered their rooms traveled because of school strikes across the nation. I quickly asked myself what could be the outcome of these students’ school results, books, food, and other important student items kept in the house before traveling. Most of them could have been flushed and been destroyed by flood and I was like let them be safe.
Cuando me di cuenta de que la mayoría de estos estudiantes que inundaron sus habitaciones viajaron debido a las huelgas escolares en todo el país. Rápidamente me pregunté cuál podría ser el resultado de los resultados escolares, los libros, la comida y otros artículos importantes de los estudiantes guardados en la casa de estos estudiantes antes de viajar. I decided to call those students I have their phone numbers at least so they could come back and see whether they can arrange their rooms and also prevent further items to be destroyed by the flood.
After walking around the corners of my house to see more about the flood, I observed that what led to the flooding last night was that the river bank was filled up and then leave its surroundings to that of the people surrounding. When the flood was looking for ways to flow, there was not much space for it to pass the gutter around the houses. Some of the gutters were blocked by dirt, sand, and other water-blocking items.
Decidí llamar a esos estudiantes que tengo sus números de teléfono al menos para que pudieran regresar y ver si podían arreglar sus habitaciones y también evitar que la inundación destruya más artículos.
Después de caminar por las esquinas de mi casa para ver más sobre la inundación, observé que lo que provocó la inundación de anoche fue que la orilla del río se llenó para luego dejar su entorno a la gente de los alrededores. Cuando la inundación buscaba formas de fluir, no había mucho espacio para que pasara por la cuneta alrededor de las casas. Algunas de las canaletas estaban bloqueadas por tierra, arena y otros elementos que bloqueaban el agua.
People should always learn how to put a wide gutter when building to enable flood pass successfully without entering houses to damage properties or take life away.
Las personas siempre deben aprender cómo colocar una canaleta ancha cuando se construye para permitir que las inundaciones pasen con éxito sin ingresar a las casas para dañar las propiedades o quitar la vida.
