Enemies Of The People

I feel so sorry for my American brothers and sisters; as if it weren't enough that they are already living on a sinking ship, their economical and political "leaders" decided that's not enough, sprinkled the ship with gasoline and set it on fire as well. No wonder that the sentiment of the American working class and poor people is quickly devolving into a mentality of "let's just burn the whole thing down"...

Recent developments have been nothing short of unbelievable, unacceptable and infuriating; America's political establishments have come out in the open and said that they don't give a damn for anyone that doesn't meet a certain income and wealth threshold. Americans now officially live in an open and unapologetic plutonomy where literally EVERYTHING is catered to the wishes and whims of the absolute top of the socioeconomic ladder. I know and you know, dear reader, that this has been the case for at least the past 50 years, but never has it become more apparent as in these last few months with the corona pandemic and its economical backlash, and the last weeks and days were an outright insult, a slap in the face of every American that isn't a millionaire or billionaire. If your face isn't glowing on one side as a result of that slap in the face, you're either ignorant or part of the 1%. This is no time to "turn the other cheek" though, however religious you may be; this is a time to fight back with any means at your disposal.

Now, what am I so mad about? There are primaries going on all across the country and there's news about to states that got my blood boiling. And it's the Democratic party again that lit the fire, the party that's supposed to save the Americans (and the rest of the world) from the orange clown in the White House. In the states of Kentucky and New York we have two black and progressive candidates running against conservative Democrats with close ties to the GOP who are staunch guardians of the status quo politics so emblematic of Joe Biden, Nancy Pelosi and the rest of the party establishment. The two black progressives, Charles Booker of Kentucky and New York's Jamaal Bowman now suddenly experience heavy opposition from the Democratic party elite; Booker's main opponent, Amy McGrath, the Democratic elite's hand-picked candidate, are getting heavy support from the DNC now that Booker is leading in all the polls. It's the same story all over again; just like with Bernie Sanders in the presidential primaries, everything is done to stop the progressive candidate in favor of candidates who promise to not rock their comfortable boat.

Hillary Clinton Awakens from Slumber to Save Conservative Democrat's Campaign

In New York the situation is even worse; black progressive Jamaal Bowman, an ex middle-school principal who gained endorsements of Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, Bernie Sanders, Elizabeth Warren, the Justice Democrats and many others, is taking on white incumbent Elliot Engel. If you want to know why I so carefully mention all these candidates' skin color, just read on: it'll become clear in a moment. Like Booker, Bowman is leading in the polls, which is not something the Democratic party establishment can abide so once again they draw the big guns; Hillary Clinton crawled out of the woodworks once again to throw her support behind Engels. And not only Hillary, the Congressional Black Caucus endorses Engel as well, the white candidate who's financially supported by the Republicans and Israeli lobbying groups like AIPAC. Like always, the Democrats who so dearly want to hang on to the privileges granted to them by their billionaire corporate funders go by the old adage "the enemy of my enemy is my friend", whenever it suits them and their billionaire backers. So that's the reason for emphasizing the candidates' skin color; the virtue-signalling of the Democratic party is just that, keeping up appearances. When a black candidate is too progressive for their taste, they won't shy away from an attempt at political lynching...

To add insult to injury and to further emphasize their hypocritical "enemy of my enemy" mentality, the Democratic establishment as well as their puppets in the "liberal" mainstream media now celebrates war-hawk and neocon John Bolton. Remember him? He resigned from Trump's administration because Trump wanted peace-negotiations with the Taliban of Afghanistan. In his new book, The Room Where It Happened, he says that Trump's refusal to bomb Iran, after they shot down an unarmed drone, was one of the most unacceptable deeds done (or not done) by any American president; in other words, Bolton found Trump's war-mongering streak lacking, he wasn't hawkish ENOUGH for this neocon's taste... The liberal media will now fawn over Bolton and his memoirs and help him sell millions of copies of the book. They'll revel in the new material handed to them which they will use to make their insincere cries of "Orange Man Bad" even louder, after the whole impeachment over Russia-gate ended up being the failure we all knew it would be.

Krystal Ball BLASTS Dems, Black Caucus for propping up white corporatists

In the meantime, the new unemployment figures as well as the number of people still trying to get their hands on the crumbs allotted to them in the disastrous CARES Act by filing for unemployment, are still staggeringly high; there's no end in sight to this economic collapse that exclusively hurts America's working class and poor people. It should have been called the "No One Up Here Cares For You Act". But even if they had called it the "We Love You So Much Act", Americans would see through it by now; their economy and their politics are there only to serve the upper class over the common people's backs. Roughly half of consumer spending is done by the upper 25%, spending that benefits the lower classes in normal times. It's this 25% that has cut their consumer spending during these hard times though, and all the privileged people have stopped visiting the cinemas, the restaurants and the hair-salons where the people who are now hurting lost their jobs or saw their income slashed to a fraction of what it was; whatever pathetic trickle down effect there was left in this plutonomy has now also grinded to a halt. This, my dear American friends, is class warfare, and you're losing. And when you lose, we all lose.

If Americans want to return to more peaceful times, it's important to recognize who their enemies are and fight back against those enemies. Like I said in the beginning; it's no time to turn the other cheek or cower into a corner and hope this all blows over without too much damage done. To speak in the words of Kentucky's hope for the future, Charles Booker:

"Now I know everybody has good intentions when they say there's peaceful protests. I know they mean well, but peace is not the absence of violent intentions, peace is the presence of justice!"

That is: social justice, legal justice AND economic justice... I'm not saying you should use violence; I'm not saying you should do anything at all, that's for you to decide. All I'm saying is that, whatever you decide to do, time's running out fast. You have no friends in Washington on either side, except those few real Democratic progressives who have to fight the Republicans as well as their own party. They've robbed you from a chance for real change when they killed Sanders' campaign and they're about to do it again. In the words of Dutch historian Rutger Bregman: "poverty isn't a lack of character; it's a lack of cash". Know who denies you the cash you deserve, the cash YOU have worked for your entire adult life and need now more than ever. Watch the videos. End of rant.
