My heart goes out to your people, who have not merited their deprivation. What I know is that my own hardships have hardened me, and have been hard enough to prepare me to live innawoods off what I can forage. While I would not trade my poor comfort today for that hardship, I know I am a better man for coming through those days.
Such hardships you endure give me more respect for the Cuban people, whom I have not heard whimper or whine, even once in my life.
Thanks!
