Explosion claims Over 20 lives Claimed at Maboro River Bridge, Kogi state. persons burnt rocks Kogi

It is no more news that yesterday was a black Wednesday in kogi state, it was a morning turned into night. it has been confirm that more than 20 persons persons died at the maboro river as the petrol-laden tanker exploded.

this incident took place at about 3:30pm, Friday yesterday, as reported by DAILY POST, the confirmation was done by the FRSC sector commander of Kogi State, Stephen Dawulung
he said that at the point of reporting the casualty could not be ascertained, He said, that his men are on the very seen of the incident trying to put things in place, but he mentioned that about two buses and two motorcycle are involved.

An eye witness of the unfortunate incident, who is a resident of the Area, Usman Ahmed, shared that at the moment of the explosion, there were many persons already in the river, and with the tick cloud of smock and fire in the river, it was difficult to know how many persons are affected.

it is also reported that amongst those burnt beyond recognition are some of the kogi state Polytechnic student and also some children who were being taken to school in the school bus, as well as cars, tricycles and motorcycle (okada).

The FESC section commander went ahead to explain that some families have showed up to claim some dead bodies of their love once, He mentioned that at this reporting time that about eleven of the corpse are with their relatives while the remaining bodies have been deposited at the mortuary at the Kogi state specialist hospital for Lokoja.

Report from some eye witnesses, said that the tanker failed break at the GT plaza, then ran into many other vehicles and finally resulted in the accident at the bridge.

Again one Mr. Olu Samson business man, his wife and three children also have been reported dead. the man is reported to be the one selling sewing machine at the Lokoja metropolis was on the way to drop his children at school within the town at the Baptist Group of Schools around Ganaja junction.

At the ground were the accident took place, there are scattered all over school bags, exercise books and text book

Officials of the FRSC, NSCDC, and the Nigeria Police force were on ground to help evacuate corpses to the State Specialist Hospital and secure the area. Meanwhile , the management of Baptist Group of Schools, have short down the school till next week so as to identify with the families that have lost their love once. link

Also, the Kogi State Governor, Alhaji Yahaya Bello , has pleaded with all the student of the state polytechnic to remain calm and peaceful as he is doing his best to handle the situation.
