Nigeria is at a point where all biases and tribalism has to be put aside.

Nigeria is one of those underdeveloped countries where there is no shortage of really distasteful breaking news daily. It's always something about corruption, insecurities, high debt rate, inflation, high unemployment rate, brain drain, etc. In recent weeks, the issue of Naira (paper money) scarcity has sneaked into the list and we don't have any clue about when this whole drama will see its end.

It has become fairly obvious that these issues we face as a country are driven forward by people whose motivation is only money. They don't care about what their actions do to the general population. They are only interested in enriching themselves and the next three generations with enough Dollars, Pounds and Euros. The root of what we face as a country can easily be traced to the type of people that have been wielding political power over the last set of decades.

It's important to note that Nigerians are not blind to this. The clues and hints have been there for a very long period. I bet that's why so many people are preparing themselves for the forthcoming Presidential election. We see it as a time to make effort towards changing the trajectory of leadership in this country by using our voting power to elect the best suitable candidate.

Electing the best man for the job will come with a lot of headaches for Nigerians. I know this because Politicians are as good as actors. They have been putting on a good act at the moment to present themselves as competent folks. To all Nigerians planning to vote during the next election, let's not forget that most Politicians will present themselves as the Messiah, but once they land the job, they will pull the rug on us and go on to rip us off. I mean, history is there for us to learn from.

At the moment, I feel we are at a point in the history of Nigeria where all biases and tribalism surely has to be put aside. It isn't about Hausa folks smearing at Yorubas or Yoruba nitpicking the Igbos. We also see situations where one Christians denomination look at others with contempt. Stuff like that has to be put aside for the greater good.
