On November the 1st, soon after I posted my first ever article on Hive, my notifications were flooded by the articles about Hive Power Up Day. Knowing my geeky self, of course I had to check it out at the source to know what it is all about.
The post by @hivebuzz shows that the requirements are simple - power up at least 10 Hive and then post about it, using #hivepud as one of the first 5 tags. Simple enough, but as I’ve only just started, I had no Hive to power up.
I continued to read everyone’s posts, cheering them up and soaking the excitement of the day and I promised myself to be a part of this as soon as I am able to.
It seemed like a long wait at the time, but I got busy writing and discovering Hive ecosystem, then life became busy on top of it and it’s hard to believe that my first HivePUD is already here.
I quickly exchanged my HBD to Hive and then I started overthinking, like I always do.
‘Do I need to power up before posting? Or after posting? Or does it even matter at all?!’
Just the usual sh** that Ernesto puts me through when he doesn’t wanna do something. I rolled my eyes and went back to read all the requirements to make sure that I meet them and to check if the order I do each tasks matters at all. Well, it doesn’t, as long as it all happens on the 1st of each month. So I went back to my wallet and finally did it!
I powered up 17.7 Hive, which brings my total HP to 175 or 345 HP including delegations from @jane1289 and
@wesphilbin (thank you so much for these 💙).
Of course, #Ernesto wanted to postpone the writing till the very last second of the day, but I couldn’t let him do this.
‘We had a bad day at work! Let’s lay down and cry a little and we’ll write later’ he moans.
‘I know, I know, but when we come back from salsa dancing it will be almost midnight and we will miss our first #PUD because of the bloody toilet’ - I said and opened the writing tab determined to post about my first ever HivePUD, despite Ernesto’s moaning.
No, that’s not Ernesto - this is Lady! If she was living in my house, I’m pretty sure she would be not much better than Ernesto 😂
Why did I have a bad day at work? Well, it was all about the toilet! When I first joined this company, there was basically no ladies toilet in my building, as there were no ladies. Our HR lady told me to use the toilet in the first aid room.
Firstly it was disgusting and secondly, all the men from the offices above me were using this toilet too, which I obviously mentioned to our HR lady, after which she banned all the men from using it.
I think a few of my colleagues didn’t like it, that they were not allowed to use it and someone must have said something to our HR, because today she called in to my office to give me the key to the toilet, which is in the furthest corner of another building and announced that from now on I shall only be using that toilet. She couldn’t care less that I will be wasting like an hour each day just to go to the toilet.
Well, ok, I said. I actually didn’t even know where that toilet was. My colleague took me there and I came back crying. It’s disgustingly dirty, full of spiders, extremely cold (it was only 2.5 degrees today), there is no hot water or even soap and there are bars on the window like in prison.
I literally told my boss I’m leaving this shitty company and when he told me not to take it personally, I threw my safety glasses on the floor and said it was very personal, because she clearly has it on for me for the reason I don’t even know and I rushed outside to smoke.
Not to worry, all ended up relatively calm in the end and it’s the weekend, so I’m not planning on dwelling on it anymore, but I guess I needed to vent a little.
So here goes! My first ever #HivePUD will forever be remembered as a toilet drama day! What a start 😂
Until next time 💙
