DEAR YOUNG SSS GRADUANDS,

I want to use this medium to advise you young ones who are checking their just concluded SSCE examination results (WEAC, NECO, NABTEB etc).

I know many will be happy and many will be sad after checking their results. I am not concerned to know how you made the results and why you couldn't get what you expected.

My Advice

My sincere advise to you is that, after the successful completion of your SSS, whether you merited the result or not yet, please endeavour to go and learn a SKILL (HAND WORK). Don't be in a rush to enter into the university, don't rush your family to enroll you into the university.

The country and the world at large is something else, rushing to gain good certificate is good, it will help you but it will not do everything for you. Even the school you want to rush into require money and let me shock you, it is not cheap anymore. Entrepreneurship, (hand work/skill) will do you better if you have it before proceeding to the university or after your university. Note, even our own president of the Federal Republic of Nigeria and presidents of some other countries have said it clearly that there is no job anywhere in the country, both in the Federal, State and Local levels. That's, it is expected you create one for yourself and others whom you can employ.

Go to school and gain more experiences and prepare yourself for further opportunities in the future but don't be in a rush. Gaining a skill will gain you a better, free and happy future.

I wish you all success in your life pursuits and in all you will choose. But, in all you will choose, choose virtuous means of succeeding and not vices.
