Great movies about Teachers that can help inspire and motivate young Teachers.

It's another day, another challenge to be faced, another mission we have set aside to accomplish, another chance to love, learn and smile again. My great hive family, welcome to my blog, today I will take us through a series of entertaining and inspiring movies that has been proven in its own right.

Many things can serve as a source of motivation for people, movies are one very good source. Many of these stories and movies follow the educators as they help shape and mold their pupils, providing them with invaluable motivation and encouragement along the way. These stories and characters are emotionally stirring and refreshing. They have left viewers with the wisdom and positive lessons they helped instill within their students. Films that shine a light on the real-life role models and heroes like teachers are often not celebrated enough.

Some of the movies are:

PRECIOUS (2009)
More than any other profession, teachers have the power to transform lives for the better. And Lee Daniels’ heartbreaking (and ultimately heartwarming) inner-city drama makes that point with blunt force. Gabourey Sidibe plays Claireece “Precious” Jones, a 16-year-old girl who can neither read nor write and who suffers constant emotional abuse from her mother (Oscar winner Mo'Nique).

SCOOL OF ROCK(2003)

A very funny Jack Black soars as a rock ‘n’ roll teacher in a delirious grade-school comedy about an oafish, heavy metal-loving teacher who cons his way into a substitute-teaching gig at a stuffy private school and proceeds to help his class of buttoned-up kids let loose.

DEAD POETS SOCIETY (1989)

This movie is the bench mark for inspirational movies, it shows a prep-school English teacher who sets his students’ minds ablaze with his unconventional teaching methods and his infectious passion for literature. The final scene where 'O captain' was recited is one of the most loved and inspiring scenes in movie history.

LEAN ON ME (1989)

This is one of the most popular movies on this list, it has stood the test of time with its story line of how rough and indiscipline students are being set straight by a hard and no nonsense teacher.

THE GREATEST SHOW MAN (2017)

This is a music and drama. It shows how a person or teacher can spot talents and believe in others to bring out the best in them by not giving up.

HALF NELSON (2006)

Is a very underrated drama that shows how a drug addict of a teacher builds a bond with his students even with his messy personal life.

MONA LISA SMILE (2003)

A movie that entails the drama of college professors in art, and how push the students to their full potentials.

EDUCATING RITA (1983)

Educating Rita is a quietly powerful little movie about a woman finding her voice and independence and a teacher who dries out long enough to see what a difference an educator can make in even the smallest of lives.

DANGEROUS MINDS (1995)

Mr. HOLLAND'S OPUS (1995)
This movie is very emotional, it depicts the influence a teacher can make to and entire community and generation.

THE PAPER CHASE (1973)

The Paper Chase movie strongly portrays the pressure-cooker atmosphere which future lawyers faced at the nation's top training grounds. But it's the jowly, icy Houseman with his plummy accent, natty bow ties and death-ray stare that steals the show, challenging his students and pushing them further than even they thought they could ever go.

THE GREAT DEBATERS (2007)

Great debaters is a movie about black American students who won a national debate competition against an all white students from top Universities in America. The struggle and challenges they faced along the line makes the victory even more refreshing and sweeter.

TO SIR, WITH LOVE (1967)

A multiple award winning British movie this is one of the very best motivational movies a young teacher can learn from

STAND AND DELIVER (1988)

This movie is a true life story that is so inspiring it sounds like fiction. A teacher coaches and brings up Latino students to an all american status while they still achieved academic excellence. Stand and Deliver is a stirring tale about the triumph of the underdog, redemption and proving doubters wrong.

There are so many other inspiring and great movies that would add value to our life as teachers. I just hope that some of this will help you just as it is helping me now.
