Potatoes do not grow on trees - A poem

Potatoes do not grow on trees,

No branches strong enough to hold,

Their roots must stay deep in the earth,

To find the nutrients they are told.

The sun and rain give them their strength,

And soil their home and bed,

But trees cannot provide the space,

For potatoes to be fed.

Potatoes grow in rows so neat,

And underground they stay,

For they are not meant for the sky,

But for the ground to sway.

So let us honor the potato,

And all that it can be,

For though it may not grow on trees,

It nourishes you and me.

So let us be grateful for this,

A vegetable so true,

That though it doesn't grow on trees,

It still grows, strong and true.
