Once upon a time, in a cozy little hole inside a house, there lived a family of rats. They were a happy family, with a mother, a father, and three little baby rats. But there was one thing that they were always scared of - the cat who also lived in the house.
Every day, the rat family would venture out of their hole and tiptoe into the kitchen, hoping to find some scraps of food. But they always had to be careful because the cat was always lurking around, looking for his next meal.
One day, while the mother rat was searching for food, the cat appeared out of nowhere and caught one of the baby rats in its paws. The rest of the family was terrified, but the cat did not hurt the little rat. Instead, the cat just sniffed him and then let him go.
The little rat was confused. He didn't know why the cat had let him go. He asked the cat, "Why didn't you eat me?"
The cat replied, "Because I saw how much you all love each other. I realized that you're just trying to survive, like me. I won't hurt you anymore."
From that day on, the cat became friends with the rat family. They would even share their food with him sometimes. The rat family was no longer afraid of the cat, and they were able to roam freely around the house without fear.
