Lord of The Rings fans can rejoice – the second season of Amazon's Lord of The Rings: The Rings of Power is about to arrive!
The premiere is scheduled for the end of this summer, and the first 3 episodes will be released simultaneously. The next 5 will appear weekly, every Thursday, similar to the first season.
What awaits us in the new season?
Amazon promises an action-packed story with "Sauron's growing evil presence" at the fore. Recently released trailers offer a quick look at what's to come, featuring epic battle scenes, spectacular magic and familiar characters from the Lord of the Rings universe.
"Rings of Power" attracted attention not only for its captivating story, but also for its huge budget. Each episode is estimated to have cost over $100 million, making it the most expensive series in history.
To put this into perspective, Francis Ford Coppola's "Megalopolis" cost $120 million, and "Barbie," "Oppenheimer," and "Dune: Part Two" had production budgets of $145, 100 and 190 million dollars, respectively.
Although it received a mixed initial reception from fans, "Rings of Power" managed to achieve an average rating of 7 on IMDb, a solid rating that suggests that it has managed to win over the audience.

In addition to the Amazon series, Lord of the Rings fans can also enjoy a new movie, The Lord of The Rings: The Hunt for Gollum, which is set to be released in 2026. The movie will be directed by Andy Serkis, the actor who played Gollum in the original trilogies.
