So every month I come up with a List of shows and dramas that I want to watch, and even when sometimes I find it hard to stick to it I try my best to watch everything, March, obviously it's no exception, and as it finally has come to an end it's the perfect time to give my review of shows I watched this month. To be more specific, two of them that really catch my eye.
I've planned to make a post for each one of them, but then I realized that it would be so much better if I reviewed it all in one post since there weren't many of them, so I won't hold you any longer since this is gonna be long.

Todos los meses hago una lista de series y dramas que quiero ver, e incluso cuando a veces me resulta difícil cumplir con ella hago mi mejor esfuerzo para ver todo, Marzo, obviamente no es una excepción, y como finalmente ha llegado a su fin es el momento perfecto para dar mi revisión de los programas que vi este mes. Para ser más especifica, dos series que realmente llamaron mi atención.
Tenía pensado hacer un post para cada uno de ellos, pero luego me di cuenta de que sería mucho mejor si los juntaba todos en un solo post ya que no eran muchos, así que no os entretengo más ya que esto va a ser largo.

Harlots, season 1.
This is a british series produced by Hulu that started in 2017 and ended by it's third season in 2020. I've only watched the first one i'll talk about that one. This show is based on the regency era, but contrary to Bridgerton, Pride and Prejudice, Little Women and many other who are also settled in this time period, this series doesn't focus in the glamour and romance of the high society but (as said on it's name) on the Harlots. Or prostitutes if you want a modern word.
This first season, introduces us the Wells family, the struggles their suffer as the mother (Samantha Morton) tries to raise her daughters and find them a position in society despite being Harlots, also their fight to raise the standart of their sex business and their rivality with Lydia Quingley (Lesley Manville) who's the owner of a much refined harlot house.
Es una serie británica producida por Hulu que comenzó en 2017 y terminó en su tercera temporada en 2020. Solo he visto la primera y es de la que hablaré. Esta serie está basada en la época de la regencia, los 1800, pero a diferencia de Bridgerton, Orgullo y Prejuicio, Mujercitas y muchas otras que también se asientan en esta época, esta serie no se centra en el glamour y el romance de la alta sociedad sino (como dice su nombre) en las Cortesanas (Harlots). O prostitutas si se quiere una palabra moderna.
Esta primera temporada, nos presenta a la familia Wells, las luchas que sufren mientras la madre (Samantha Morton) intenta criar a sus hijas y encontrarles una posición en la sociedad a pesar de ser trabajadoras sexuales, también su lucha por elevar el nivel de su negocio de sexo y su rivalidad con Lydia Quingley (Lesley Manville) que es la dueña de una casa de prostitutas mucho más refinada.
My review: 5/5.
As a total lover of regency stuff, this was a big shock for me. Not because I did not know about the reality of this time period, but because I didn't think this could be shown on media in a way that could make you not feel disgusted. And I'm not saying that there won't be times when you feel disgusted or angry while watching, because you definitely will, but this has it's own way to trap you so you feel like you must go on.
I feel that this is a total must watch, since not only brings something new to the table, but also enjoyable characters that keep growing and changing but without erasing their own esence, it never feels repetitive (as for now) and the acting is magnificient! I personally came to hate Lesley's character so bad and that only proves how good her acting is.
Despite being a drama series, it also has it's fun scenes and others very angsty, that keep the whole plot feeling more tridimensional.
For this season I don't think there's somenthing negative I can say,so I hope that I can keep this mindset for the next two seasons as well.
Como amante total de las cosas ambientadas en la regencia, esto fue un gran shock para mí. No porque no conociera la realidad de este periodo de tiempo, sino porque no creía que esto pudiera mostrarse en la televisión de una forma que no te hiciera sentir asco. Y no digo que no haya momentos en los que te sientas asqueado o enfadado mientras ves la serie, porque definitivamente lo harás, pero esto tiene su propia manera de atraparte para que sientas que debes continuar.
Personalmente creo que es una serie que todos deberían ver, ya que no sólo trae algo nuevo a la mesa, sino también personajes memorables que siguen creciendo y cambiando, pero sin borrar su propia esencia, nunca se siente repetitivo (por ahora) y la actuación es magnífica! Personalmente llegué a odiar mucho al personaje de Lesley y eso sólo demuestra lo buena que es su actuación.
A pesar de ser una serie dramática, también tiene sus escenas divertidas y otras muy angustiosas, que hacen que toda la trama se sienta más tridimensional.
Para esta temporada no creo que haya nada negativo que pueda decir, así que espero que pueda mantener esta mentalidad para las próximas dos temporadas también.
You're my Sky, The Series.
This is a BL (Boys Love) series from Thailand, and tells the story of six students in the university of Sports Science who go through the struggles of love, friendship, loyalty and the uncertainity of future.
First we have the story of Toranin and Tubfah who are childhood friends who had promised to stay together and get into the national basketball team together. Since there's an age difference between them, Tubfah gets into university first and when the times for Torn to join him comes, he realizes that his best friend it's not the same that he has known for so long, and more importantly, that Tubfah doesn't play basketball anymore. After this, Torn tries to make his best friend go back to play basketball with him while struggling with his own feelings.
Then comes Saen and Ai, who have a complicated relationship between a Junior and a Senior. Saen wants to date Ai, but even when Ai feels attracted to Saen, he can't fall into his feelings since he's about to move to Japan for a scholarship and before so he must decide between love and his future.
And finally, we got Vee and Dome who are part of the track team, and as they train together, feelings start to flourish but there's a problem: Dome is dating Vee's sister!
Esta es una serie BL (Boys Love) de Tailandia, y cuenta la historia de seis estudiantes de la universidad de Ciencias del Deporte que pasan por las luchas del amor, la amistad, la lealtad y la incertidumbre del futuro.
En primer lugar tenemos la historia de Toranin y Tubfah, que son amigos de la infancia y que habían prometido seguir juntos y entrar en el equipo nacional de baloncesto. Como hay una diferencia de edad entre ellos, Tubfah entra primero en la universidad y cuando llega el momento de que Torn se una a él, se da cuenta de que su mejor amigo no es el mismo que ha conocido durante tanto tiempo y, lo que es más importante, que Tubfah ya no juega al baloncesto. Tras esto, Torn intenta que su mejor amigo vuelva a jugar al baloncesto con él mientras lucha con sus propios sentimientos.
Luego vienen Saen y Aii, que tienen una relación complicada entre un Junior y un Senior. Saen quiere salir con Aii, pero aunque Aii se siente atraído por Saen, no puede dejarse llevar por sus sentimientos ya que está a punto de irse a Japón por una beca y antes debe decidir entre el amor y su futuro.
Y por último, tenemos a Vee y Dome que forman parte del equipo de atletismo, y mientras entrenan juntos, los sentimientos empiezan a florecer pero hay un problema: ¡Dome está saliendo con la hermana de Vee!
My review: 4.5/5.
I really liked this series, the script was very well done and delivered and the actors did a great job playing the characters. The cinematography, scenery and soundtrack was also very on point. I personally think that you could take a screenshot in every scene and you would get an aesthetic photo, background-y worth.
I loved that directors kept the pace of the story and there wasn't any moment were it felt rushed or poor written, the chemistry was very palpable and not only in the characters that were paired as romantical couples, but also the friendships and other relationships. Plus, they kept everything very real and I felt that some of the characters actions or advices were ones I could do and offer too in real life.
At first I was kinda doubtfull and worried about this show; doubtfull since it seems the producers didn't know how to explain the story and in many sites I've seen wrong resumes that give another idea of the plot, I had to watch to really understand what the plot was about, and also i felt worried since it's the first time the leads take the role as protagonists, I had seen Tae Chayapat (Tubfah) in Y-Destiny and Suar (Torn) in You Never Eat Alone and I wasn't satisfied with their acting, so I thought that maybe they would be lacking in this series too, but I was surprised since they both have grown so much and also polished their acting skill.
Contrary as many other Thai BL, the pace set for this series is very slow, specially at the beginning and it's more focused on the friendship of the main leads and their goal to succeed in basketball more than romance, so I feel that there would be people that wouldn't enjoy it as much or would turn to seconds leads (Saen and Aii) who have a very much fastforward relationship and evolves the cheesy feeling Thai BL often offer.
The only reason I don't give a 5 out 5, it's simply because I did not like the third couple (Vee and Dome) since their story was filled with drama and angst and that towards the end there were so many time jumps that make you confused.
Still is a very well done series and it's totally worth a watch.
Me gustó mucho esta serie; el guión estaba muy bien hecho y la forma en la que fue dirigido también fue buena,los actores hicieron un gran trabajo interpretando a los personajes. La fotografía, la escenografía y la banda sonora también fueron muy acertadas. Personalmente creo que se podría hacer una captura de pantalla en cada escena y se obtendría una foto estética, que valdría la pena comoun fondo de pantalla.
Me encantó que los directores mantuvieran el ritmo de la historia y no hubo ningún momento en el que se sintiera apresurado o mal escrito, la química era muy palpable y no sólo en los personajes que estaban dispuestos como parejas románticas, sino también en las amistades y otras relaciones. Además, todo se mantuvo muy real y sentí que algunas de las acciones o consejos de los personajes eran los que yo podría hacer y ofrecer también en la vida real.
Al principio tenía dudas y preocupaciones sobre la serie; Duda porque parece que los productores no han sabido explicar la historia y en muchos sitios he visto resúmenes erróneos que dan otra idea de la trama, he tenido que verla para entender realmente de qué va la historia como tal, y la preocupación venía porque es la primera vez que los actores principales asumen el papel de protagonistas, Había visto a Tae Chayapat (Tubfah) en Y-Destiny y a Suar (Torn) en You Never Eat Alone y no quedé satisfecha con sus actuaciones, así que pensé que tal vez les faltaría algo en esta serie también, pero me sorprendió ya que ambos han crecido mucho y también han pulido su capacidad de actuación.
Al contrario que muchos otros BL tailandeses, el ritmo de esta serie es muy lento, especialmente al principio, y se centra más en la amistad de los protagonistas y en su objetivo de triunfar en el baloncesto que en el romance, así que creo que habrá gente que no la disfrutará tanto o que se centrará por los segundos protagonistas (Saen y Aii), que tienen una relación muy acelerada y que evoluciona hacia el sentimiento cursi que suelen ofrecer los BL tailandeses.
La única razón por la que no le doy un 5 sobre 5, es simplemente porque no me gustó la tercera pareja (Vee y Dome) ya que su historia estaba llena de drama y angustia y que también hacia el final dela serie había tantos saltos temporales que el espectador puede terminar confundido.
Aun así es una serie muy bien hecha y vale totalmente la pena verla.
Other shows I watched this month.
The Novelist: A Japanese BL that shows the story of a student that provoques an accident and since he doesn't have the money to pay medical bills, the person affected by this accident offers him a job to be his somewhat assistant and help him write his book.
I really enjoyed this series as much as any other shows, but it didn't left a strong opinion in me as others, so I won't be reviewing. If you want to cry your eyes out and still watch some sexy scenes, this is for you.
Bridgerton S2: I'll be talking about this in another post so i'll hold my comments about it.
Secret Crush on You: I think this is still on going, couldn't finished because found it really boring and cringey. Specially cringey. I watched the half of it and couldn't empatize with any character.

- The Novelist: Una BL japonesa que muestra la historia de un estudiante que provoca un accidente y como no tiene dinero para pagar las facturas médicas, la persona afectada por este accidente le ofrece un trabajo para ser algo así como un asistente y ayudarle a escribir su libro, que cabe aclarar es de literatura erotica.
Realmente disfruté de esta serie tanto como de otras, pero no me dejó una opinión tan fuerte como otras que he visto, por lo que no haré una reseña. Si quieres llorar a mares y a la vez ver escenas sexys, esto es para ti.
- Bridgerton S2: Siguiendo la historia de la primera temporada, sigue al hermano mayor de los Bridgerton en su busqueda por una esposa.
Hablaré de esto en otro post, así que me guardaré mis comentarios al respecto.
- Secret Crush on You: Creo que esta sigue en marcha, no pude terminarla porque la encontré muy aburrida e incomoda, especialmente incomoda. Vi la mitad y no pude simpatizar con ningun personaje.
