If you like dark comedy, intrigue, suspense you will definitely want to check out The Consultant, I just saw the first episode and want to see the rest.

The Consultant is a TV Series where we see one of my favorite actors for this unique sociopath acting, whenever you want an actor that can makes you feel cornered just by looking at you and smiling Christoph Watz is your guy, you might remember him from Django unchained or Inglorious Basterds where he was one the brightest starts, both movies have ratings over 8 on IMDB.

I knew he was part of the cast, first scene has a bit of gore having a kid killing the CEO of a game developer company to then after such event comes in the mysterious Consultant, Mr. Regus Patoff who was hired by the now dead CEO Sang, I have only seen the first episode so don't know if we will see Sang again but the guy said no words on first episode, show up to receive some kids doing a tour on the company and bang, you are dead.

On this show there is gore, blood, dark humor, nudity, profanity, all the words that end with "ity" and end up with some sort of bad behavior.

Did you notice none of the characters have last names? is this part of a short attention trend to make things simple for viewers to remember? Episodes are also short compare to now days TV Series, prime TV Series are usually 1 hour when the regular series are 30 - 40 min.

The episodes starts by some kids from a school visits the CompWare, a game development company, they were on a tour and wanted to know the installations and the creator of all this games that they play on their phones.

We met our first main character Elaine, she is the CEO assistant but she tend to come up with other names to make assistant sound fancy. Elaine is kind, smart, ambitious and at the moment of the first episode she was looking for better job opportunities out of CompWare, she believes CompWare is not enough, that Sang is not exactly the genius everybody think he is and might be just a lucky shot that gave him everything.

There is this one kids that suppose to know a lot about Sang and Elaine is taking them to his office so they can know the creator of all the games they know and love.

Things seem to happen fast on this episode, not many detail about characters and the main ones are coming up on every next scene.

Next we got Craig, a code developer for CompWare, seems to be funny and smart, he wants to pitch an idea to Sang but the kids are with him at the moment, Elaine said it shouldnt take too long until the first impactful event of the series happen. Remember the kid three images above.

This kid took out his gun, light up Sang's office, everybody is running around trying to hide, scared, this kid shoot Sang several times even in the head, Sang is dead, only Elaine and Craig ran to Sang's office to find "Tokyo" the kid I refer to asking for his mommy.

This is a comedy if you didn't know, but it has other factors like mystery of a crime, suspense created by the desire to know whats going to happen next.

Keep in mind Sang is the CEO and brains behind this company, with him dead every one including Craig and Elaine think its over and don't know what to do next.

It creates uncertainty since without Sang there is basically no company, there is no successor or second at charge that can come up with new games, the rest of the crew seems to be just coders.

Neither Craig or Elaine can sleep so they both go to CompWare office, Craig for some weed he had and Elaine was doing some work installing cameras, and then he arrives.

The Consultant, Regus Patoff, just the entrance tells you he is the main guy of the series, at least for this episode.

On his first scene we see Patoff behavior is strange, I get the impression of a manipulative, psychotic , dark and humorous guy. The first conversation he had with Craig and Elaine is the story of Sang dead but backwards "Sang kill the kids and the put the gun to himself..." when it was actually backwards, a kid shoot him and then ask for his mom.

From now on its all about trying to find out who is Regus Patoff, all they know Sang hire him as a consultant for all matters of business and he seem to be in charge, he asks everyone to go back to work the next day as usual.

Few things happen when everyone arrive, new rules. Patoff tells everyone who work remotely has one hour to get to the office or they are terminated on the spot and a girl in a wheel chair got seconds after the rest but was not aloud to get in, Patoff tells Elaine there is no difference between her and the rest so she is fired for not making it in time, what a MF.

Extreme changes start to happen around the office, at this point I know Patoff is a dictator, he is not at CompWare to make friends or been nice to others, he is there to generate productivity from the employees and nothing else.

Craig look up Patoff online and the guy doesn't exist so him and Elaine, btw we are going to see this two together a lot, they decided to find out who he is, Elaine goes into Patoff office to find the date he sing the contract with Sang so they can look up on the server the video recording the date Patoff arrive to the office and sing his contract, she almost got caught but its just too early in the series for her to get in any serious trouble I guess.

Going through all the videos will take some time so they went to the cafeteria and start looking up until Craig found it, look like Patoff didn't have an appointment, suddenly goes to Sang office and after 14 minutes of talking to him Sang decides to hire him for his services and gave him a blow job while Patoff look at the camera.

As you can tell this is a very sick funny comedy but I would not expect less coming from such great actor, at this point you can tell Waltz is one of my favorite actors, in fact this series looks like something directed by Tarantino, maybe. There are a lot of things to discover, need to know more about the other characters on the series, there were a few details that I didn't mention but are juicy ones so wanted to leave it for you to watch but I can assure you that soon you will find how strict and eccentric Patoff is.
