Plot: during the vacations of a little girl and her parents four individuals arrive, send after having many visions of the end of the world, they have arrive with a mission to stop it from happening but only if one of three, the girl or her parents, decided to die and be killed by on of them, they can't suicided he or she have to be kill by one of them to stop the end of the world, the horseman of the apocalypse have arrive to their door.

This movie is from M. Night Shyamalan a director I have seen mention in the past as some of his movies most recent I really like, the last movie I saw from him was “Old” it's also a horror type of movie of people trap o a beach that you can't escape and become old very fast between other of some movies that I really like Glass, Split and Signs, if you have seen any of this movies then you already know Shyamalan movies are not the gore type of movies its about suspense and mystery, that keeps you tense for most part of the movie. Knock On The Cabin was not the exception with the theme of End Of The World and that for some reason that family has chosen to stop it by killing one of the members of the family.

I think this movie works best for someone who doesn't know anything about it, I put myself on that place and the experience would be better but I did remember watching the first trailer and had an idea of what would go down although didn't know the real meaning of the movie.

In the first scene right away you see Dave Bautista in his role as Leonard coming across the woods, big, all muscle, tattoo guy on a white shirt coming towards little Wen who is picking up grasshoppers to study them and suddenly Leonard stands in front of her and greets her.

Anyone would be scare if you are alone in the woods minding your own and suddenly this guy appears, I thought he was going to kidnap her, the way Leonard talks to Wen is so calm and polite, he tries to gain her trust and both start talking almost like starting to know each other while Leonard helps her to get another grasshopper and she smiles at him, it was getting very twisted because I was just expecting that moment when he turns psycho or picks her up, Wen is so innocent and well behave that start talking about her parents, her two dads. Leonard offers her an early birthday present, a flower and tells her they can play a game, take petals off the flower and turn questions, right out of the bat when she got her first question ask "Why are you here?" this girl might be innocent but its not dumb.

We really see Dave on a role that you wouldn't expect coming from an ex wrestler, calm, calculative but at the same time his tone feels pure like he is really on a mission, he has a target and he is trying to do his best, not crazy, not bad like a serial killer but so sincere. It looks like he wants his acting carrier different than other ex wrestlers, he is not into comedy or just action, he also wants to develop roles where he can bring up feelings, expressions, more deep development of his acting.

After some short conversation, Leonard explains Wen that his heart is broken because of the job that he is about to do, probably the most important job in the world, she looks at him and notice three persons coming up to them with what look like weapons, she ask if those are his friends but he says they are people that work with him.

Anyone in this world, not only a little girl like Wen sees this type of scenario developing, anyone would run away, not only that they are bringing weapons but Leonard tells Wen that she has to talk to her parents and convince them to let them in, if not they will find their way in, she and her parents will have to talk some though decisions and he knows it wont be easy.

She ran as fast as she can, go inside the cabin and look for her parents, Eric and Andrew who were relaxing at the back of the cabin to explain them what is happening, some people are coming and they all need to get inside, the looks scary and mean, at first they thought it was a kind of game, so she gave her more details about what Leonard told her and then told her about the weapons until they hear the knock at the cabin door.

First thing that will take Eric and Andrew by surprise is that Leonard calls them by their name, Wen told him their names, Leonard seems polite and explain them that him and his associates are in a very important mission trying to safe a bunch of people. The figure of the horseman of apocalypse is often painted by books like this monsters, mostly like zombies or demons who will descend from the sky riding horses and terrorizing the world but if we take out the fantasy part and put it on a more human perspective this four guys standing at the door were the four horseman asking humanity for a sacrifice as a symbol that there still good people willing to sacrifice for others, as long as that kind of people exist there is still hope for things to change.

Eric and Andrew are scare and don't want to open the door, they try to call the police but the phone is not working, cell reception is none and they cut the phone line, this guys are really on a mission taking no chances for failure and Leonard ask one more time to open the door, Wen and her parents are scare and feel trap but Leonard ask them to open one last time.

Outside of the cabin are the four horseman of the apocalypse Leonard, Sabrina, Redmond and Adriane. Each one with different personalities but all on the same mission.

The first one to get in is Sabrina who Eric confronts but she hits him in the head and knock him out, then Andrew start fighting Redmond as all start to get inside the cabin.

There is a big contrast between all four horseman, Leonard seems so calm, focus, polite while the other three are eager and scared, they believe what is about to happen but at the same time are not focus on the mission as Leonard is.

After the enter the cabin, Sabrina takes care of Eric since she is a nurse, Eric and Andrew get tied up to chairs, Leonard starts explaining their mission, why the are all there including Wen, Eric and Andrew. Each of the horseman stand in front of them to introduce them self and tries to convince them that only if one of them , Wen, Eric or Andrew, volunteer to sacrifice and has to be kill by one of the other two, only then the end of the world will stop.

Who would believe this guys, obviously Eric and Andrew start making their own conclusions that they were been targeted for been a single sex couple or that it was some kind of cult with a crazy idea but at as they start to fulfill their mission, start killing each other of the horseman, more proofs of natural disasters, virus spreading, catastrophic technology failure that end the life of many. Only then they make the right decision and stop the end of the world.

What happens after the horseman present to them is part of the movie that I think doesn't need to be told but be sure that some of the actions will take you by surprise and its very noble too.

As many of the other movies that I have seen from Shyamalan there is a lot of suspense, bit of action and horror, also makes you think what will come next and how it will happen. I found it very entertaining, its not too long about 1:30 hour, this is not an Texas Chainsaw or an Avengers movies, its not a blockbuster but it is a movie to watch, the level or horror is low since at least on the version that I saw there were very little scenes of blood and at all times Leonard hide the bodies from Wen and her parents.

There was Rupert Grint, after the Harry Potters movies I don't remember him performing other roles, it was interesting to see him back on the big screen but his part on this movie was very short, he does appear on Servant another fantasy theme Tv series that I'm pending to start to watch soon and will post a review about it. I hope you find this movie as entertaining as it was for me.
