Hello friends, welcome to my blog, this week's contest gives me the opportunity to talk about one of the best villains of all time, which for me is Hannibal Lecter, a character masterfully acted by Sir Anthony Hopkins, who, in 1991, embodied for the first time in the film "The Silence of the Lamps", directed by Jonathan Demme and co-starring Jodie Foster as Clarice Starling. This movie brought us one of the most charismatic, intelligent and artistic serial killers of all time, a being as malevolent as he is charming. Accustomed to seeing serial killers like Jame Gumb “Buffalo Bill” (Ted Levine), who we saw on the same tape, Hannibal broke the mold and brought us a new type of villain.

Hola amigos, bienvenidos a mi blog, el concurso de esta semana me da la oportunidad de hablar de uno de los mejores villanos de todos los tiempos que para mí es Hannibal Lecter, personaje actuado magistralmente por Sir Anthony Hopkins, quien, en 1991, lo encarno por primera vez en la película “The Silence of the Lamps”, dirigida por Jonathan Demme y coprotagonizada por Jodie Foster como Clarice Starling. Esta película nos trajo a uno de los asesinos en serie más carismático, inteligente y artístico de todos los tiempos, un ser tan malévolo como encantador. Acostumbrados a ver asesinos en series como Jame Gumb “Búfalo Bill” (Ted Levine), que vimos en la misma cinta, Hannibal rompió el molde y nos trajo a un nuevo tipo de villano.
One of the things that I liked the most about Hannibal (Anthony) was the relationship that he established throughout the film with Clarice (Jodie), that relationship that was established from the principle of quid pro quo (giving and giving), it is one of the masterful moments of the film, when Hannibal against all odds decides to help Clarice catch another serial killer, but in exchange for telling her about his life and his most intimate moments, it is what makes their relationship become close and a symbiosis between both characters originates. The psychological element begins to play an important role in the film and this gave another meaning to the plot.
Una de las cosas que más me gusto de Hannibal (Anthony), fue la relación que estableció durante toda la cinta con Clarice (Jodie), esa relación que se estableció del principio de quid pro quo (dando y dando), es uno de los momentos magistrales de la película, cuando Hannibal contra todo pronóstico decide ayudar a Clarice a atrapar a otro asesino en serie, pero a cambio que le cuente su vida y sus momentos más íntimos, es lo que hace que la relación de ambos se vuelva cercana y se origine una simbiosis entre ambos personajes. El elemento psicológico comienza a jugar un papel importante en la cinta y esto le dio otro sentido a la trama.

The case of Dr. Hannibal Lecter is one of the most emblematic (although the character is fictional), of this premise that we see throughout the film, a cannibalistic man (eats human flesh), brutally murders to feed himself, but it also makes it an art when you have the time and planning to do it. He is also capable of feeling something for another person and it is reflected in his relationship with Clarice (Jodie), paternalistic and respectful after having beaten him in her mind game.
Una de las premisas en la mayoría de los asesinos en series por parte del FBI, es que estos psicópatas tienen un coeficiente intelectual (IQ), superior a la media normal, por ello son tan hábiles y difíciles de atrapar. El caso de Dr. Hannibal Lecter, es uno de los más emblemáticos (aunque el personaje sea ficticio), de esta premisa que a través de la cinta vemos, un hombre antropófago (come carne humana), asesina de manera brutal para alimentarse, pero también lo hace un arte cuando cuenta con tiempo y planificación para hacerlo. También es capaz de sentir algo por otra persona y se ve reflejado en su relación con Clarice (Jodie), paternalista y de respeto luego de haberle ganado en su juego mental.
That intelligence, knowledge of the fine arts, his charm and seduction make Hannibal Lecter a different psychopath, but at the same time terrible and one of the worst, because he creates sympathy, makes you think that he is so charming that he is incapable of committing the acts most horrendous and inhuman possible, but in reality that is his camouflage to gain the trust of the people. Despite the fact that in this his first film we only see his true intentions at the end and it will be in the sequel where we will see his charms in more depth, this film shows us a small part of his psyche and why Hannibal is what he is and his actions .
Su inteligencia, conocimiento por las bellas artes, su encanto y seducción hacen a Hannibal Lecter, un psicópata diferente, pero al mismo tiempo terrible y de los peores, porque crea simpatía, te hace pensar que es tan encantador que es incapaz de cometer los actos más horrendos e inhumanos posibles, pero en realidad ese es su camuflaje para ganarse la confianza de la gente. A pesar de que en esta su primera película solo vemos al final sus verdaderas intenciones y será en la secuela donde veremos sus encantos más a profundidad, esta cinta nos muestra una pequeña parte de su psiquis y porque Hannibal, es lo que es y su accionar.
Finally, if we talk about serial killers and human monsters that may seem harmless at first glance, Hannibal is the personification of that, today his character is an icon of cinema, the interpretation of this character and that of Clarice was worth so much to Anthony Hopkins like Jodie Foster, the Oscar and countless awards. For me Hannibal Lecter is and will be one of the most charismatic and at the same time most ruthless serial killers of all time. A being that shows no mercy when he goes to prey on him, a predator that doesn't care if he is a child, a woman or a man, you are only his favorite food and his prey to satisfy his most primitive desires. A villain and bogeyman of any horror story.
Finalmente, si hablamos de asesinos en series y monstruos humanos que pueden parecer inofensivos a primera vista, Hannibal es la personificación de eso, hoy su personaje es un icono del cine, la interpretación de este personaje y el de Clarice le valió tanto a Anthony Hopkins como a Jodie Foster, el Oscar e innumerables premios. Para mí Hannibal Lecter es y será uno de los asesinos en series más carismáticos y al mismo tiempo más despiadado de todos los tiempos. Un ser que no tiene piedad cuando va a su presa, un depredador que no le importa si es niño, mujer o hombre, solo eres su comida favorita y su presa para saciar sus deseos más primitivos. Un villano y el coco de cualquier cuento de horror.
