This particular scene in the movie Three Idiots an Indian School movie released in 2009 really made me laugh and also feel like crying at the same time. Although the movie was centred on an Engineering school and the struggles of the students involved to keep up with the high standard and an almost impossible objectives of the educational system and that of their families, there was still a great deal of fun and comic displays in this movie.
This particular scene took place when the three students, Rancho, Farhan and Raju were expelled from Engineering school after a night out of fun and an innocent unauthorized prank on the rock hard lecturer christened Virus they where about living the school when one of the lecturer's daughters went into labour and was about giving birth. The great lecturer himself was at a lose as to what to do because it was raining and the streets where flooded so it was impossible to take her to the hospital. Although his other daughter who was in love with his most audacious student and the one Virus disliked the most, Rancho was a doctor, she was not around to attend to her sister in labour. They had to make do with a video directory.
Due to the rain, there was power outtage and they made use of an inverter created by Rancho, funny enough, the inverter was also nicknamed Virus.
The vacuum was an improvised one created on the spot by the clever Rancho and although the equipments used were simple and somehow crude, they managed a safe delivery. Funny enough, the rock hard Virus who seems unshakable even when his son died, fainted during the delivery process.
After the safe delivery, the students took their luggages and were leaving the school in the rain when Virus, still in tears called them back to continue their studies, since they where almost at the end already.
