127 Hours || Anything can happen at any time!

There are thoughts that Satan deals with us humans when he has nothing to do. At unexpected times, he makes his presence felt through unthinkable methods and manages to attract arrows. It can be an unannounced journey alone, the behaviour of a daring person who can take risks, or the arrogance of an irresponsible person.

Anything can happen at any moment!

Are you ready for a one-man adventure? I was, so I watched the film 127 Hours. Aron Ralston (played by James Franco), a young climber, gets stuck in a crevasse in a canyon near Utah. The film covers the time from the moment he wakes up on the morning of his accident until he is rescued and anaesthetised.

Aron Ralston, who appears as a very active, eccentric and adventurous man, is also a man with high self-confidence. His journey starts by car, continues by bicycle and then on foot. In this respect, he is quite skilful in showing how his passion for nature is reflected in his lifestyle.

Of course, nobody knows that the journey that started cheerfully will end in disaster, he did not know, and what he experienced was far beyond a nightmare. The difficulties encountered can make us do what we say "today, I would never do". I think the film 127 Hours should definitely be watched in terms of taking lessons. One of the issues that you will agree with me after watching it may be that potentially dangerous journeys should never be taken alone.

When a momentary accident in a crevasse in the canyon causes Aron's arm to get stuck, he is reminded of how freedom can be lost in an instant. The pinched arm has captured the whole body on the spot. When you can't call for help and there is no one with you, what a simple arm pinch can cost is very well reflected throughout the film.

Actually, the pinched arm reminded me of a true story about the aftermath of an earthquake many years ago. A young soldier comes to the aid of a middle-aged man who is buried under the earthquake. The man is still under the cave-in and at that moment the earthquake continues to shake. The soldier, who reaches the man through the tunnel, cannot get him out of the cave-in because his arm is trapped under one of the columns of the house. Professional teams have not yet reached the wreckage and it is not clear when they will arrive because many buildings have collapsed. Aftershocks may cause the collapse of the tunnel through which the collapse is reached. The life of the man, who is conscious at the time, and the young soldier who goes to help him are in danger. The man, whose arm is under one of the columns, asks the soldier to cut off his arm and the soldier cuts off his arm in tears. The hasty and radical decision saved both of their lives. It is a true story of the 1999 Gölcük earthquake.

Facing difficult moments like these makes us do what we thought we could never do. In the story of the mountaineer Aron, the amputated arm is his liberation and his clinging to life again. It will not be easy to get rid of a part of the body, but nothing is impossible when circumstances dictate the conditions.

I don't want to face such a situation, but when I do, I know that I will think and act like Aron. When life is in danger, it takes courage to make that radical decision that will allow us to hold on to life again instead of watching the past life flash before our eyes like a film strip and waiting to die.

Aron was a brave man, even if he was crazy, crazy, adventurous and crazy!
