Just imagine living in the time of a genius. And I don't mean the lightness with which that word is used in our modern day driven by continuous stimuli.... In fact, imagine that for more than 250 years, truths such as the travel of light or the understanding of concepts such as gravity (as a force of nature) added to a universal concession of time, are part of a rule that admits no exceptions... Yes, I know, it's a bit complicated to compensate well... But to give you an idea, just think about what would happen if a human being proved what dark matter is, or proved the existence of string theory... Quite simply, it would change everything...
In Genius, a 10-episode miniseries enhanced by National Geographic and available on Disney's Streaming service, in its first season released to the public in April 2017, the life behind the icon, the figure; the mind... The man, Albert, but also Einstein... A restless being, cancellable in today's terms and controversial in many, many aspects. Without problems to be a stateless person but incapable of being a devoted father or of fulfilling the social expectations typical of his time; and which even today continue to persist.
Einstein in Genius is an inevitable accumulation of simply brilliant curiosity and questioning. It is a reflection of a mind unable to fit into the German authoritarianism of the time and with no link to the revanchist, warmongering and vengeful characteristics of his Zeitgeist. But, of course, no mortal who has lived for the Sun has ever been perfect.... In fact, from the very first chapter we will notice that we are talking about a human being and not about a myth that does not accept notes and questions. Nobody has ever been perfect, and Einstein is no exception to that golden rule.

Amazingly, in the 21st century, with a vibrant culture of cancellation, where it is easier to point to a place than to compensate for it and place it in its rightful place, ‘Genius’ has not only stood the test of time (it is going on 10 years since it was released to the public), it has also stood the test of time. Abandonment, cruelty, indifference, a certain intellectual exploitation, but above all a great deal of the ultra-conservative era of the early 20th century can be witnessed in this kind of miniseries. In fact, the people who have seen it and whom I have asked have told me that watching a production that shows the shadows and lights of a complex, transcendental and brilliant character gives the audience the right perspective. It nurtures a more complete vision of everything that happened in the life of that being in his time....
And it is that the same mind that was able to create a theoretical-practical statement demonstrating the existence of molecules, followed by the importance of the spatio-temporal fabric of the universe and the unmistakable demonstration that Newton was wrong; is also the same person who could not be married for 2 complete marriages... The one who benefited from the circumstances of having his first wife in academia. And who was instrumental in guiding him and helping him inch by inch to become what he ended up being but who to this day few people could remember her name (Mileva Maric).... A perfect balance between a biopic with dramatic and epic tones and a sample of the humanities behind the genius of geniuses... I insist, no one is perfect and no one will ever be perfect. I recommend that you give it a chance and watch this miniseries.

Imagínense vivir la época de un genio. Y no me refiero a la ligereza con la que esa palabra se usa en nuestra actualidad movida por estímulos continuos... De hecho, imaginen que durante más de 250 años verdades como el viaje de la luz o el entendimiento de conceptos como la gravedad (como una fuerza de la naturaleza) sumado a un conceso universal del tiempo, forman parte de una regla que no admite excepciones... Sí, lo sé, es un poco complicado compensarlo bien... Pero para que te hagas una idea, tan solo piensa en que pasaría si un ser humano demostrara lo que es la materia oscura o probara la existencia de la teoría de cuerdas... Sencillamente, lo cambiará absolutamente todo...
En Genius, una miniserie de 10 episodios realzada por National Geographic y disponible en el servicio de Streaming de Disney, en su primera temporada lanzada al público en abril de 2017, la vida detrás del icono, de la figura; de la mente... Al hombre, a Albert pero también a Einstein... Un ser inquieto, cancelable en términos actuales y polémicos en muchísimos aspectos. Sin problemas para ser un apátrida pero incapaz de poder ser un padre abnegado u llenar la expectativas sociales típicas de su época; y que aún en nuestros días continúan persistiendo.
Einstein en Genius es un cúmulo inevitable de curiosidad y cuestionamientos sencillamente brillantes. Es un reflejo de una mente incapaz de encajar en el autoritarismo alemán de la época y con un nulo nexo con las características revanchistas, belicistas y vengativos de su Zeitgeist (de su tiempo histórico). Pero, por supuesto, ningún mortal que hay vivido para el Sol ha sido perfecto alguna vez... De hecho, desde el primer capítulo notaremos que hablamos de un ser humano y no de un mito que no acepta apuntes ni cuestionamiebtos. Nadie jamás ha sido perfecto, y Einstein no es la excepción a esa regla de oro.

Me asombra, que en pleno siglo XXI, con una vibrante cultura de la cancelación; donde es más simple apuntar hacia un lugar que compensarlo y ubicarlo en su medida justa; "Genius" no sólo ha sobretodo bien el paso del tiempo (va rumbo a 10 años de haberse lanzado al público). Abandono, crueldad, indiferencia, cierta explotación intelectual pero sobre todo muchísimo de la época ultra conservadora de inicios del siglo XX podemos atestiguar en este tipo de miniserie. Incluso, las personas que la han visto y a las que le he preguntado, me han dicho que ver una producción que muestra las sombras y luces de un personaje complejo, trascendental y genial; brinda la adecuada perspectiva al público. Nutre de una visión más entera sobre todo lo que sucedió en la vida de ese ser en su tiempo...
Y es que la misma mente que fue capaz de crear un enunciado teórico-práctico demostrado la exitencia de las moléculas, seguido de la importancia del tejido espacio-temporal del universo y la demostración inconfundible de que Newton estaba equivocado; también es la misma persona que no pudo estar casado durante 2 matrimonios completos... El que se vio beneficiado por las circunstancias al contar con su primera esposa en materia académica. Y que fue fundamental para guiarlo y ayudarlo palmo a palmo a ser lo que terminó siendo pero que hasta el Sol de hoy pocas personas podrían recordar su nombre (Mileva Maric)... Un balance perfecto entre una biopic con tonos dramáticos y épicos y una muestra de la humanidsd detrás del genio de genios... Insisto, nadie es perfecto no nadie jamás lo será. Recomiendo que le des una oportunidad y veas esa miniserie.
