In Stübing, it´s about 15 km north of Graz, there is the Austrian Open Air Museum. It is the largest in Austria and one of the ten largest in Europe!
Here you walk through a valley, where about 100 objects (houses, farms, mills, forges...) from former times are located. The objects were demolished in their original places and rebuilt according to traditional craft methods.
Here you feel transported back to another century!
Again and again there are action days, where basket weavers, carvers, blacksmiths enliven the valley and give insight into the old, traditional, rural world.

In Stübing, ca 15 km nördlich von Graz befindet sich das Österreichische Freilichtmuseum. Es ist das größte von Österreich und zählt zu den zehn größten Europas!
Hier spaziert man durch ein Tal, in dem ca. 100 Objekte (Häuser, Bauernhöfe, Mühlen, Schmieden…) aus früheren Zeiten stehen. Die Objekte wurden an ihren ursprünglichen Orten abgetragen und nach traditionellen Handwerksmethoden wieder errichtet.
Hier fühlt man sich in ein anderes Jahrhundert zurück versetzt!
Immer wieder gibt es Aktionstage, wo Korbflechter, Schnitzer, Schmiede das Tal beleben und Einblick geben in die alte, traditionelle, bäuerliche Welt.
Mit den kommenden Fotos versuche ich einen kleinen Eindruck zu vermitteln. Und wer mal in der Nähe ist, sollte dieses Museum nicht verpassen!
