Den Boden desinfiziert - unfreiwillig.
Heute soll es um eine Kausalitätskette gehen. Die Dinge auf dem Waschtisch haben ihren zugeordneten Platz und das hat lange gut funktioniert, bis eine Sache geändert wurde. Nur wo ist in diesem Fall der Beginn dieser Wirkungskette? Schuld könnte die elektrische Zahnbürste sein, welche allerdings weiter rechts stand, weil Besuch kam. Vielleicht aber auch der Besuch oder am Ende dann doch ich, die die Zahnbürste zu Fall gebracht hat und den Besuch überhaupt erst eingeladen. Aber nun zum unfreiwilligen Dominospiel:

Disinfecting the floor - involuntarily.
Today it is about a chain of causality. The things on the washstand have their assigned place and that worked well for a long time until one thing was changed. But where is the beginning of this chain of causality in this case? The electric toothbrush could be to blame, but it was further to the right because a visitor was coming. Or maybe it was the visitor, or in the end it was me who brought down the toothbrush and invited the visitor in the first place. But now for the involuntary domino game:
Ich wollte an die Aktivkohle gelangen, die unter dem Schraubglas mit dem Zahnpulver steht, welches häufiger gebraucht wird. Es war nie ein Problem, dieses Döschen zu erreichen, allerdings war nun die anders positionierte elektrische Zahnbürste im Weg und fiel um, was an sich kein Problem gewesen wäre, doch sie war der erste physikalische Dominostein, der mit seinem Fall am Ende Chaos verursachte.
I wanted to reach the activated charcoal that is under the screw-top jar with the tooth powder, which is used more often. It was never a problem to reach this jar, however, the differently positioned electric toothbrush was now in the way and fell over, which in itself would not have been a problem, but it was the first physical domino that caused chaos with its fall at the end.
Die Zahnbürste kippte um und riss mit ihrem Gewicht zielsicher die Tube Zinksalbe um, welche dann das kleine Fläschchen mit Jod traf und dieses mit Wucht von der Ablage kickte. In Bruchteilen von Sekunden, während ich der Braunglasflasche beim Fallen zu sah, kam der verrückte Gedanke auf, dass sie nicht zerbersten wird, wenn sie auf die Bodenfliesen auftrifft. Es kam schon vor, dass Glasgefäße so etwas überstanden haben. Eine Flasche mit diesem färbenden Inhalt sollte bruchresistent sein, sie darf eigentlich nicht zerbersten.
The toothbrush tipped over and unerringly knocked over the tube of zinc ointment with its weight, which then hit the small bottle of iodine and kicked it off the shelf with force. In a split second, as I watched the glass bottle falling, the crazy thought occurred that it wouldn't shatter when it hit the floor tiles. It has happened that glass jars have survived such things. A bottle with this colouring content should be break-resistant, it should not actually shatter.
Alles lief weiter wie in Zeitlupe ab. Beim Aufprall und als die Pfütze am Boden drohte sich auszubreiten, dachte ich - Küchenrolle und rannte in die Küche. Vor der Küchenrolle stehend sagte irgendwas in meinem Kopf - Toilettenpapier, denn wenn diese Rolle eingesaut ist, dann ist das nicht so schlimm wie beim Küchenpapier, zudem ist Küchenkrepp auch viel starrer und ungünstig zum Aufnehmen der Scherben, ach und wenn du das gleich alles bedacht hättest, Mädel, dann hättest du dir den Weg in die Küche und zurück sparen können. Oh nein - voll der Umweg.
Everything continued as if in slow motion. On impact and as the puddle on the floor threatened to spread, I thought - kitchen roll and ran into the kitchen. Standing in front of the kitchen roll, something in my head said - toilet paper, because if this roll is soiled, it's not as bad as kitchen paper, besides, kitchen paper is also much stiffer and inconvenient for picking up the shards, oh and if you had thought of all that right away, girl, you could have saved yourself the trip to the kitchen and back.
Es ging alles viel schneller als es klingt. Ich hatte zusammen mit dem Toilettenpapier bereits die Pfütze wieder erreicht, bevor diese an die Silikonfuge gelangt war und konnte diese rotbraune Flut stoppen. Nun erstmal das gröbste aufgesaugt, die Scherben beseitigt, feucht nachgewischt usw. Nun muss ich nur noch herausfinden wie ich die Verfärbungen aus den Fugen und aus meinen Klamotten bekomme. Der Boden wurde also unfreiwillig desinfiziert, auch nicht gerade auf preisgünstige Art und Weise und es roch tagelang stark nach dem Jod.😁
It all went much faster than it sounds. Together with the toilet paper, I had already reached the puddle again before it reached the silicone joint and was able to stop this reddish-brown flood. Now I've sucked up the worst of it, removed the broken pieces, wiped it with a damp cloth and so on. Now I just have to figure out how to get the discolouration out of the joints and out of my clothes. So the floor was involuntarily disinfected, not exactly in a cheap way either, and it smelled strongly of the iodine for days.😁
