Raj kachori is a popular snack in North India because of its rich flavors, crispy texture, and royal name. The word "raj" means "royal" or "grand" in Hindi, which may refer to the rich stuffing of the kachori. It is assumed that this popular dish was originated in Bikaner, Rajasthan and can be dated back to 1613.
