See how molasses is made

Sugar cane is harvested and stripped of its leaves to manufacture molasses. The juice is extracted by cutting, crushing, or mashing the fruit. Boiling the juice concentrates it and encourages sugar crystallization. The first syrup ('A' Molasses) is the result of this first boiling, and it contains the most sugar.
