We used to practice the traditional style where a family meal is to be served at a long table to be shared by the whole family members. This will happen during special occasions, gatherings, reunions, and other important events where there is family involvement.
A scenario like this seldom happens in our lives. We are all busy in our work. If the opportunity occurs, I always make sure that we are present at mealtime as this will strengthen our family bond and create a healthy relationship.
It was just 2 weeks ago when my mother-in-law and my sister-in-law went back to the USA. We need to send them off to the airport. Before heading there, my sister-in-law treated us to a sumptuous lunch at Gerry's Grills in Lapu-Lapu City, Cebu.
This was the first choice of my family. We used to be here if they are in the Philippines. We are satisfied with their impressive menus and the atmosphere of the restaurant.
We requested 4 square tables to be set to come up for one long table for us. Since we are 18 family members, we need to have this set up so we can eat together as one big happy family.
While waiting for some of the family members to arrive, I was having fun taking photos of this presentable restaurant. Let me show you how does it look like.
The entryway
The Gerry's Grill is Located on the ground floor of Island Central Mall. The restaurant is captivating because its walling is fairly modernized. It is made of glass and aluminum which brings attractiveness to customers. The entrance is appealing that gives the first impression to the customers.
The appearance inside
As we stepped inside the restaurant, the enticing mellow songs were heard. So relaxing to one's mind. The ambiance is impressive. The tables are presentable and the chairs which are all made of wood have foams so the customers will be comfortable while sitting. They are well-cleaned and well-arranged.
The lights are cool to our senses and attached to the wall is the LED TV that will bring entertainment and delight to the customers.
Their area is spacious enough for the convenience of the customers. There are many seats properly set up at the top. The arrangement is nice and the whole area is cozy.
The necessity
One of the best things to have a good impression of the restaurant that will last forever is the restroom. Their restroom is well-cleaned which will truly win the trust and loyalty of the customers to keep on coming back.
The menus and the pricelists
These are their menus and the price lists for every serving. We have chosen our favorite menus to satisfy our hunger. I really intended not to eat much in the morning because I wanted to eat a lot at lunch.
Our orders
We ordered 2 servings of crispy pata medium with Achara (deep-fried pork trotters) at $14.27 or Php805.00 per serving. This is always present once we eat outside. Its flesh is so tender to chew, and the crispy skin is addictive to our taste. This is a Filipino dish craved by my mother-in-law.
2 orders of spring roll at $4.71 or Php265.00 per serving. Our children's favorite because it is crunchy. It is nutritious as this is made from ground pork and veggies.
2 servings of pork sinigang(sour soup) with veggies. It costs $7.71 or Php435.00 per serving. We love its slightly sour soup which serves as an appetizer for us. Another Filipino dish loved by my husband. This was his order.
2 orders of pinakbet or Filipino vegetable stew at $5.06 or Php285.00. We opted for this menu because one of our nieces loves veggies and for our meal to be balanced.
2 servings of fried chicken (5 pcs. per serving). It costs $7.19 or Php405.00 per serving. The children's favorite.
For the drinks, we ordered 2 pitchers of Gerry's special iced tea which costs Php345.00 or $6.13 per pitcher. It is so cold that truly satisfied our thirst.
The plain rice is Php48.00 or $0.85 per serving.
The impression
All of the foods served are good to our tastes that's why we used to visit here again and again. We have eaten everything so the payment will not be wasted. Nothing was left on the plates. I belched a lot at this lunch. I couldn't even move my body much because I was so full.
The quote which is said by *Alan D. Wolfelt- "Food is symbolic of love when words are inadequate.” is so true. We are loved so dearly. We all have a good meal. They never mind how much they have paid as long as our stomachs are full and happy.
