Healthy semolina dhokla recipe

Welcome to my blog. I am so glad that you are here again. Today i would like to share a breakfast recipe of fluffy dhokla made by semolina which is nuturies, healthy and tasty.

White dhokla is a quick , delicious and easy breakfast recipe made semolina, curd and some herbs. whose tempering is made by oil, green chilli and some more herbs. Whenever i made it first time at our home it was hit , And since then i have started to make this frequently in our home . Not in breakfast, sometimes we enjoy this dinner too. Because This is healthy, digest easily and also feel full for a while.

If you want to make it vegan you can use lemon and water instead of curd. And for both use eno for fermentation. It goes well with green chutney or also with sause or sechwan chutney.

INGREDIENTS ✅

  • Semolina (suji) 2 cup
  • Curd 1 cup
  • Salt to taste
  • Eno one packet
  • Oil 2 tbsp
  • Mustered seeds 1 tbsp
  • Seasome seeds 1 tsp
  • Curry leaves 8-10
  • Green chilli 6-8
  • Red chilli (optional)


PROCESS ✅

Step 1 :

First take semoina and curd. And make curd smooth adding water like this.

Now make a batter with curd , semoilna and water. Add salt to leave it for 30 minutes for fermentation.

Step 2 :

After 30 minutes, mix it well , add eno and one drop water and mix in one side consistently for 20-30 seconds.

Now pour the batter in the plate greese with oil. You can sprinkle some red chilli powder like this. This is totally optional.

Step 3 :

In a steem pot steem it for 20 minutes, in the medium to high flame.

Aftet 20 minutes open the lid and check it with the knife. If knife comes clean means your dhokla is ready.
Cut into the pieces as you want.

Step 4 :

Now it's time to make the tempering or we called dhokla me jaan daal do 😛 with tasty tempering.

First cut the green chilli.

Take a small kadai or pan, add oil, heat the oil, add musterd seeds, seasome seeds and curry leaves . Than add green chilli and cook for some seconds. Now add all dhokla in the kadai or you can pour the tempering on the dhokla.
Give it a good mix.

Your dhokla ks is ready to enjoy.

Serve it with green chutney or any other sauce. But green chutney goes well with it.

Try it and enjoyed with your loved ones.

Tips :

  • Don't make batter thin or thick, consistency should be okay for perfect fluffy dhokla.

  • Before adding eno into the batter get ready the plate greased.

  • Always add one lemon piece in the water while steem. This will save your utensils from getting dirty or black.
