Chin-chin is a popular West African fried delicacy. It's a deliciously crunchy snack with a lot of flavor.

Despite the fact that this snack is popular in Nigeria, not all chin chins are created equal. Some are overly sugary or flavorless, while others are a greasy mess.

During the Christmas season, I used to help my mother make chinchin a lot. During the Christmas holidays, we always looked forward to creating this delicious snack.

On Saturday evening I decided to make the Chin-chin, I've the flour at home already I went to the local store to get the rest of the ingredients.

Ingredients
  • 3¹/2 cups flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder

  • Pinch of nutmeg

  • 1 small cup sugar

  • ¹/2 cup baking margarine

  • 1 cup of liquid milk or water

  • 2 egg (optional. use if you want soft chinchin)

  • Vegetable Oil

Step 1: In a mixing dish, combine flour, baking powder, and sugar. Mix in the margarine until it is completely blended

Step 2: Slowly pour in water until a somewhat flexible but not sticky dough forms (do not add too much water at once)
Cut into desired shapes after rolling out the dough on a flat surface.

Step 3: Place the oil over medium heat and wait until it is hot. Fry one batch of formed dough at a time until golden brown.

Step 5: Fry all the batches, then get a big bowl and pour it inside and allow it to cool down before you package it. Since I'm eating it at home I don't need to package it.
