I am very happy, because I was given the time and opportunity to participate again in the Foodies Be Hive Community. This time, I want to share stories about my culinary experience at a café in my city.
Some time ago, I went to Dru Kaffe for lunch with my wife. I have discussed the design concept and architecture of this café in my post a few weeks ago. This time, I want to try to review a little about the delicious food at this cafe.
I used two different discount vouchers when having lunch at this place. First, I used the HEMAT AMPUN voucher which consisted of one portion of mushroom chicken noodles and ice tea. Second, personal package vouchers consisting of 1 main course and 1 drink. For main course choices, we can choose rice bowl chicken mayo, dabu-dabu fish rice, Butter Rice Chicken Teriyaki, Rica-Rica Chicken Rice, Fish and Chips, and Chicken Schitzel. For the choice of drinks in this personal package voucher, we can choose Longan Ice Tea, Ice Lemon Tea, and Ice Chocolate.
Dru Kaffe Mushroom Chicken Noodle
Mushroom Chicken Noodle from Dru Kaffe is one of the best seller food menus in this café. What causes people to like ordering this menu? The first reason, of course, is because noodles are a comfort zone food for many people. The second reason that I found, because the price of this menu is more affordable than other menus. For information, only IDR 25 K (1.6 USD) we have got a food and drink menu. For the third reason? i have to try the dish first.
My food order came not too long. Maybe, the café situation which is not too crowded makes the serving process faster. This mushroom chicken noodle looks so delicious when served to my table. A bowl of noodles, topped with mushrooms, chunks of stewed chicken, boiled eggs and wonton crackers, I can't wait to taste it.
For sure, I think this mushroom chicken noodle from Dru Kaffe is very delicious. This is the third reason why this menu is one of the best-selling here. This mushroom chicken noodle is served with a separate soup stock. So, we can enjoy it without gravy or using gravy.
I tried both. At first, I tried a bit without the stock, and then I poured the soup into my noodle bowl. Both methods still produce very tasty and perfect mushroom chicken noodles. One more thing, the noodles used are different from other chicken noodles that I have tried and eaten. Mushroom chicken noodles from Dru Kaffe use flat and wide textured noodles. Usually, the noodles used for chicken noodle dishes have a small and long texture.
Rice Bowl Chicken Mayo
The second dish or food that I will review at Dru Kaffe is Rice Bowl Chicken Mayo. Just like the food menu that I reviewed earlier. This Rice Bowl Chicken Mayo served with fast duration to my table. I feel, serving time like this should be maintained and become a good standard for diners.
When this dish came to my table. I feel, the portion is very small. This dish has a composition of white rice, omelet, chicken katsu topped with mayoness. My thoughts at that time turned out to be wrong, the rice from this dish turned out to be a huge amount.
The portion of rice given in the bowl is also very large. Like the portion of rice for heavy workers, my wife can't finish her rice because the portion is too much.
For the taste, this food also has a very delicious taste. The chicken katsu is fried with great characteristics. The outside of this fried chicken is crispy but the meat inside is very juicy and also delicious. Moreover, the combination of omelet and warm rice creates the perfect taste for this dish. I also like the prawn cracker topping, it's very crunchy and goes well with rice.
Ice Tea As Complementary
To complete the perfect taste of the two dishes I ate this time. I chose ice tea without sugar as a drink. Ice tea without sugar makes me enjoy the taste of the dish more specifically. I believe, if you drink something with high sugar levels while eating. We will not enjoy the taste of the dish, we only focus on the intention to fill the body.
I enjoyed my lunch at this café. I guess, if I had the time and money, I would often have lunch here. That's all my culinary story this time, see you next time.
