Cheeseburger, Cheeseburger, Ain't No Ordinary Cheeseburger!

After a hard days work for both my wife and I, this is how we treat the family to dinner. Honestly, this meal deserved more jubilation at the dinner table than what we had to give tonight. Despite the weariness, however, we appreciated the meal and time together.

Warning! If the sight of meat disagrees with you, you may want to hide your eyes from this one. Cause it's all about burgers. In-N-Out is going to have to step up their game to compete with home made cheeseburgers like these.

We Start With Bacon & Grilled Onions

As my wife got the bacon and onions over heat on the stove top, I pulled out the frozen ground beef patties we get from Costco. These babies go on the grill but I like to let them defrost a good amount first. They hold the seasoning so much better that way.

And for seasoning, I go with only the very basics. Overloading the patties with spices doesn't make sense with all the other ingredients we add on. As you can see below, these burgers get only salt and ground pepper.

Buttered Brioche Buns

To make a special cheeseburger, you can't use little burger buns. And you can't just throw the meat with mustard and ketchup on top either. We use Brioche buns with butter which also go on the grill.

Burgers & Buns On The Grill

This step is rather self explanatory. I sear the burgers and cook them about 10 minutes before putting on the cheese. Another 10 - 15 minutes on medium-low heat and they're done. Our youngest is a picky eater and likes his burgers plain. No cheese plz.

We've Only Just Begun

Once everything is on the table, there's still work to be done. Now it's time for each participating family member to build their burger masterpiece.

Logan's already eating and he'll be done with his meal before mine is even ready. Who has time to eat when you're hard at play?

I captured this picture a bit early as the grilled onions and avocado have yet to arrive. Bacon is hiding on the plate covered by a paper towel. Let the building begin!

Here's how my cheeseburger stacked up. First the patty then bacon. Next I put sliced onions, tomatoes, sweet and spicy pickles, and avocado. Lettuce and grilled onions went on top to finish it up. Ketchup and mustard were applied to the top bun.

We busted out the potato salad in lieu of french fries. It has to be consumed before it turns and it complimented the cheeseburgers nicely. And one last look at the feature image, which is the completed masterpiece.

Whew! That does it for this day. I'm pooped and need good sleep for the day ahead. I'm positive that the cheeseburger will help with that.

Hope you enjoyed and as always....

Happy Hiveing!!!
