Bread is one of the best accompaniments to meals, either to join the main meal, such as when eating spaghetti with meat, as part of the main meal, here we can refer to a meat or chicken nugget or as a snack, for example sweet or stuffed breads, I do not know in all countries bakeries make the same breads as in Venezuela.
In Venezuela they usually prepare the famous canillas, also peasant, sobado, French, and there are more unique varieties such as Parmesan and oregano bread or sesame, this in terms of savory breads and there are other varieties such as stuffed breads that can be for example guava or cheese, there are also sweet breads here is where my favorite is a small bread that is called Piñita.
Now, let's start with its name, this small round sweet bread has the shape of peaks on the top that becomes noticeable after adding sugar and gives it the similarity with the peaks of the pineapple, although I must confess that lately very few bakeries give this shape to the piñitas.
The reason why I love this bread is simple. To begin with, I should clarify that I'm not exactly a sweet tooth, but this bread has balance. First, because it's small, it's just the right amount to go with a cup of coffee in the afternoon, and it's soft.
Then, for as long as I can remember, this bread has been present in my home when I was a child. I remember that in the afternoons my grandmother would buy piñitas to go with her coffee and to give us an afternoon snack, either when we came home from school or if we were on vacation.
I also remember that on more than one occasion she accompanied us in my birthday parties and also in study meetings to make a break and rest a little of the activity, which makes me remember that this bread was very famous or rather used to have an attention for when we had visitors at home, they were bought and given with coffee or some juice.
So besides liking the piñita for its flavor and softness is a bread that brings many memories to my memory, because I see in my mind my grandmother and my mother eating it while drinking coffee, I also see my sister when she was little eating it in the afternoons with me and also bought to share with the views that could come home.

El pan es una de los mejores acompañantes de las comidas, ya sea para unirse a la comida principal, como por ejemplo cuando se come espaguetis con carne, como parte del palto principal, aquí podemos referirnos a un pepito de carne o pollo o como una merienda, por ejemplo panes dulces o rellenos, no sé en todos los países las panaderías elaboren los mismos panes que en Venezuela.
En Venezuela suelen preparar las famosas canillas, también campesino, sobado, francés, y hay variedades más singulares como pan de parmesano y orégano o de ajonjolí, esto en cuanto a panes salados y hay otras variedades como panes rellenos que pueden ser por ejemplo de guayaba o queso, también hay panes dulces aquí es donde se encuentra mi favorito un pan pequeño al que se le llama Piñita.
Ahora bien, comencemos por su nombre, a este pan dulce pequeñito y redondo en su parte superior tiene la forma de picos que se le hace notoria luego de agregarle azúcar y le da la similitud con los picos de la piña, aunque debo confesar que últimamente muy pocas panaderías le dan esa forma a las piñitas.
El motivo por el que amo este pan es sencilla. Para comenzar, debo aclarar que no soy precisamente amante del dulce, pero este pan tiene equilibrio. Primero por ser pequeño, es la cantidad exacta para acompañar una taza de café en las tardes y es suave.
Luego, desde que tengo memoria, este pan ha estado presente en mi hogar cuando era una niña. Recuerdo que en las tardes mi abuela compraba piñitas para acompañar con su café y para darnos alguna merienda vespertina, ya fuera al llegar de la escuela o si estábamos de vacaciones.
También recuerdo que en más de una ocasión nos acompañó en mis fiestas de cumpleaños y también en reuniones de estudio para hacer break y descansar un poco de la actividad, lo que me hace recordar que este pan era muy famoso o mejor dicho utilizado para tener una atención para cuando se tenían visitas en casa, se compraban y daban junto al café o a algún jugo.
Así que de la piñita además de gustarme por su sabor y suavidad es un pan que trae muchos recuerdos a mi memoria, pues veo en mi mente a mi abuela y a mi madre comerlo mientras tomaban café, también veo a mi hermana cuando era pequeña comiéndolo en las tardes junto a mí y que además se compraba para compartir con las vistas que podían llegar a casa.
En resumen, la piñita es el pan ideal para reuniones y meriendas y tiene un equilibrio perfecto por su sabor dulce y suavidad. Así termina mi participación en el tema propuesto para el día 08 de octubre de Monthly Prompts | octubre INLEO
