How African Dreams were born – pure incense made in Africa from indigenous herbs

I want to share with you the invention of a totally original product never before seen on the planet in this form or shape, and it has the fragrance to capture the world with its alluring aromas. I’m talking about the African Dreams range of incense made by hand right on the southernmost coast of Africa from the hand picked indigenous plants and herbs. Let me tell you the story of how this African Dream came to be a reality as a new product was born from the combination of the stuff that dreams are made of, combined with the earth of the African soil.

The Africa Dreams range came from the well-established Pure Incense company, who source, package and supply top quality incense from India to leading health stores and wellness centers around the country of South Africa. Pure Incense has built up a reputation over the past 15 years as a supplier of top class fragrances of the finest masala incense sticks from all over India, and much used by households, temples and yoga centers for their uplifting and meditative as well as purifying aromas.

Recently in the past five years Pure Incense had a dream of incorporating the actual indigenous fragrant plants of the Cape coast of Africa into an incense range, since such a thing had never actually been done before in any memorable way. The local plant species indigenous to the Cape region at the south tip of Africa is called the Fynbos species, and includes the Protea, the national flower of South Africa, as well as the Pincoushion and many others. In fact the Fynbos species is so prolific that it happens to be the one of the six floral kingdoms in the world that has the most diverse amount of species in the smallest geographical space on the planet.

And of these incredibly delicate and endemic species there happen to be some really fragrant members, like the sage, "mpepu" and others, which have a unique aroma of their own. In fact indigenous Koi and San Bushmen used these herbs for centuries before the west arrived, burning them when dried as purifiers, much like one would the frankincense and myth in religious or meditational pastimes throughout the world. However, these local fragrances have remained unknown to the world, until now.

It was with the ingenuity that Pure Incense had from the original Indian manufacturing that allowed us to take the locally hand-picked herbs from the surrounding bushes on the Cape shores of Africa and mix them in such a way as to create the finished product that we have today, namely a hand rolled incense cone, beautifully packaged in paper, and ready to light for any inspired occasion. The fragrant range has a unique African aroma of its own that is known to cleanse the atmosphere and facilitate a sublime meditational time for you.
