Conocí esta canción cuando veía una telenovela llamada "Más Allá del Horizonte". Fue el tema musical de esa novela en Venezuela. Era una novela muy bella y basada en hechos reales de las pampas argentinas. El romance de la dueña de una estancia con un aborigen empleado suyo: Catriel. Era uno de esos tórridos y apasionados romances donde tenían todo en su contra. Seguí esta novela con mucho interés junto con mi madre y el día del capítulo final...se fue la luz justamente a esa hora. No nos preocupamos porque siempre cuando terminaba una novela al día siguiente "con bombos y platillos" anunciaban la "reposición a petición del capítulo final de la telenovela tal". Siempre pensé que los repetían como política de la empresa, no porque realmente la gente llamara para ver de nuevo el capítulo. Pero justamente con esta novela no pasó eso... no repitieron el último capítulo.
En esa época (Estoy hablando de cuarenta años atrás) no había redes sociales, así que me senté en la mesita al lado del teléfono y llamé a todos mis conocidos a ver quien la había estado viendo para que me contara el final... y nadie la había visto (A lo mejor fue por eso que no repitieron el último capítulo) Bueno, quedé fascinada por la bella historia, para mí inconclusa, y esta canción está nimbada para mí con el halo de nostalgia de esos días.
La canción habla del esfuerzo de alguien por olvidar un amor del pasado que persiste intensa y tercamente en su corazón a pesar de los años. Una letra muy expresiva, muy "a lo Ricardo Montaner", con una fuerte carga emotiva y una melodía bellísima.
La canté en Sol mayor y me encontré con algunos cambios de acordes poco usuales, hay un momento en que se salta de C a B7 y se regresa a C y realmente es un giro melódico demasiado bello.
I got to know this song when I was watching a soap opera called "Más Allá del Horizonte". It was the musical theme of that novel in Venezuela. At that time (I'm talking about forty years ago) there were no social networks, so I sat at the little table next to the phone and called all my acquaintances to see who had been watching it so they could tell me the ending... and no one had seen it (Maybe that was why they didn't repeat the last chapter) Well, I was fascinated by the beautiful story, unfinished for me, and this song is haloed for me with the halo of nostalgia of those days.
The song talks about someone's effort to forget a love from the past that persists intensely and stubbornly in his heart despite the years. Very expressive lyrics, very "a la Ricardo Montaner", with a strong emotional charge and a beautiful melody.
I sang it in G major and I found some unusual chord changes, there's a moment where it jumps from C to B7 and back to C and it really is such a beautiful melodic twist.
