Under the Hot Sun Farmers Struggle Against Bird Pests

This time, I want to share a photo story about a farmer in my place. The rainy season has ended in my area. Well, now is the time for farmers to go back to the fields to work planting rice. As we know, rice is the main staple ingredient in Indonesia. Yes, maybe it's different from other countries that don't consume rice as the main food staple.

At that time, the sun was very hot and hot. I went to the rice fields to take photos and listen to the stories of farmers working in their fields and I wrote them back in this post. I arrived at the rice fields, from a distance I could see the farmers working, namely looking after the sparrows that would eat their rice plants.

Rice that grows well and bears fruit. A net made of plastic rope covers and stretches the farmers' rice fields. The sound of sparrows can occasionally be heard flying near the farmers' rice plants.

The farmer is sitting in a hut among the rice plants. And every now and then the farmer screams to chase away the sparrows that land on his rice even though it has been covered with a net. As usual, with my camera, I started photographing the activities of farmers who were working to chase away the sparrows. Oh yes, I went there with my friend, @dilimunanzar, who is also a hiver from Indonesia.

This is a tool made from used milk cans by farmers and also hung near rice plants to ward off sparrows that eat their rice grains.
