A way to selflove

It's not easy to develop self-love, especially when you live in a society that has an illusion of perfection. I remember growing up, I wanted to be like so many people, and I had several wishes about who I wanted to look like. I wanted to be tall, I wanted to smile like someone else, I wanted to be able to speak like another person and all these became I wanted to be admired like they're admired. Unknowingly to me, while I was wishing to be like them, they were wishing to be like me and some of them said it to me and it made me wonder what was so special about the traits I exhibit.

One thing I have realized is that perfection is impossible, it's just a dream everyone wishes will come true. The statement "we are just humans" connotes our imperfections and errors, we can only suffer torment if we pretend to be who we are not, and yes, I did went through pain because I wasn't satisfied with who I was, and these was all because I needed some validation from society whom were imperfect as well

The first way to self love is to realize that we are not perfect beings. This realization helps us accept our imperfections. The next step is to build on our strength until it's all that we can see. If we focus on our weakness or imperfections, we only create room for worries and pain, but if we take up our strengths and build on them, we begin to appreciate a part of us that we never knew existed. Lastly, avoid competition, and be content. Only people who are content find true happiness in themselves and what they have. You don't need to be a superhero to love yourself, you only need the understanding that you're unique.
