Olympics: Tokyo 2020 wheelchair rugby test event canceled over coronavirus By Reuters

The current month's wheelchair rugby test occasion has been dropped due to the coronavirus flare-up, Tokyo 2020 coordinators said on Tuesday.

The occasion, which had been planned for March 12-15, is the most recent game to be dropped in Japan as concerns mount over Tokyo's capacity to have the 2020 Olympics booked to start in July.

Test occasions are dress practices in front of the real challenges in the Olympic and Paralympic Games.

The games climbing test occasion, planned to start on Friday, will be held yet without competitors. Rather, coordinators said Tokyo 2020 staff would replace competitors to "test operational preparation".

A boccia rivalry which was to serve as a test occasion during the current year's Tokyo Paralympic Games was deferred a month ago, and the Tokyo long distance race on Sunday was shut to general investment with just tip top competitors permitted to partake.
