Mets considering entering 2020 season with unconventional fifth-starter plan, report says - CBSSports.com

The New York Mets are considering going with a non-traditional rotation.  With the 5th spot, the team is looking into something novel.

Their first four spots are occupied by deGrom, Syndergaard, Stroman, and Porcello.  The 5th spot looks like it is up for grabs between Steven Matz and Michael Wacha.

It is possible that they do a time share type deal where the pitcher chosen is based upon the other teams weakness.  It is also possible for them to employ a opener with the others serving as the "bulk" pitcher.
