One win, one draw, nine losses. Eight goals scored (worst in the league), 27 goals conceded. Add that to six straight home losses and you start to wonder why Vincent Kompany is still the manager at Burnley. Evidently, Burnley is grateful to Kompany for guiding them back to the big team. However, for how long will they continue to persist with this unending cycle of ineffectiveness?
In fairness to Kompany, he's been very unlucky with fixtures. In the first 11 games Burnley have played Man City, Aston Villa, Spurs, Man Utd, Newcastle, Chelsea, and Brentford. They are not expected to win any of those games. As a matter of fact, they've excelled against teams with similar qualities by beating Nottingham Forest in the EFL Cup and clinching a draw against them in EPL. Their sole win came away at Luton, a 2-1 win. With games against Sheffield United, Wolves, Everton and Fulham to come in their next seven fixtures, there is cause for optimism. If after those seven fixtures they can't add at least six points to the four they have now, Kompany may not be able to save his job.

Of course Man United will win at Fulham. And, as expected, it will not be straightforward despite Fulham's continuing struggles after losing their main goal threat in Mitrovic to the Saudi goons. Thankfully, Man United won and got a clean sheet too, their third in 11 EPL games. Can they kick start their flailing season from here? Well, I won't get carried away. The next three matches look winnable before a must win showdown against Galatasaray in Turkey. I'm not holding my breath on this one, but I hope it will spark some revival. The season is teetering on the brink of collapse already.

King Kane
Was it ever in doubt that Harry Kane will be dominant at Bayern? In fact, from my own point of view the only competition Kane has is matching the tallies of Barcelona striker Lewandowski when he was at Bayern. If Kane could score 30 goals with an average Spurs side, he sure as hell can score 35 goals with a dominant Bayern. He's already up to 15 goals in 10 games. Bet against him to score 35 at your own peril!
Progressive Newcastle
Except something drastic happened, I've already starred Man United's trip to St. James Park as a sure loss for Man United. Though football doesn't work that way, Newcastle looks miles ahead of their Manchester counterparts at the moment. Yesterday, Newcastle ended Arsenal's unbeaten run. Their display against Arsenal further proved these guys are not going to disappear anytime soon. The fact they are now expected to win every game they play shows the amount of progress they've had in the last two years. Though a time will come when Eddie Howe's team will be expected to match their performances with a trophy, for now they are okay where they are.
Finally, what's happening at Girona this season? Yes, they are part of Man City owner's legions of football club and all but the form they have shown so far is unexpected. I hope they cling on to a top 4 spot this season. It will be a good reward for all the drama they've served us thus far.
