Good day, everyone, and welcome to my blog. What a night it has been for all FC Barcelona fans worldwide, and I am still excited with the result of last night's El Clasico between Real Madrid and FC Barcelona in Laliga Santander. The Catalan giant stood strong last night and dominated Real Madrid at the Santiago Bernabeu Stadium last night. In my post for the Barcelona Vs. Barcelona review, I said that FC Barcelona has increased my confidence going into the El Clasico this weekend, and although it won't be easy, I was sure Hansi and the boys would do everything to take home the three points.
In my post-match post yesterday about the El Clasico I highlighted how worried I was about Barcelona's high line at the defense because Real Madrid has fast players which are Mbappe and Vinicius it got too concerned but that was not the case last night as FC Barcelona defense still played the high line against Real Madrid and was able to perfectly execute it against Mbappe. The Frenchman was cut off the side eight times in the first half, and it just made me realize that Inigo Martinez and Cubarsi's pairing at the defense has been superb this season.
Inigo Martinez has been excellent this season since the absence of Ronald Araujo and Andres Christensen. Inigo Martinez has not lost a single match in Laliga this season, and the only match Barcelona lost in Laliga this season was against Osasuna, which Inigo Martinez did not play as Hansi Flick rested the Spanish defender in that match. Let's also not forget how Pau Cabarsi has been phenomenal this season, the boy is just 17 years old and already is a main starter for FC Barcelona; where can you find a 17-year-old as a regular starter for a top club in Europe? La Masia just keeps bringing out incredible players and that is why there is no academy better than La Masia, not just in Europe but in the world.
The first half of the game did not see any goals, as most of the goals scored by Real Madrid were offside. Barcelona dominated the first half in possession and also attempted a goal, but that all changed in the second half when Hansi Flick made a tactical change as he subbed in Frenkie De Jong for Fermin Lopez, and the first goal came in the 54th minute of the second half. Lewandoski, the Polish, scored the first goal of the match and was assisted by Casado who has been brilliant each matchday.
Two minutes later, Lewandoski scored brilliantly headed, and the cross was played in by Balde. Real Madrid did not know what hit them in the space of two minutes, and it could have been four zero in the space of 10 minutes if Lewandoski had scored a free lap in and taken a one-on-one chance against Real Madrid goalkeeper Lunin. Real Madrid fans and hate watchers of FC Barcelona were expecting Real Madrid to make a comeback, but they forgot it was FC Barcelona, not some random club that would bottle a two-goal lead.
FC Barcelona increased their two goals lead to three in the 77th minute. Raphinha gave a perfect assist to Lamine Yamal as the youngest made sure to send the ball into the back of the net, and with that goal,l, Lamine Yamal became the youngest goalscorer to ever score in an El Clasico. What more can I say about Lamine Yamal the youngest is just incredible to watch each game. Barcelona sealed their victory in the 84th minute as Raphinha scored the fourth goal for FC Barcelona.
Barcelona came, saw, and conquered the Santiago Bernabeu. Inaki Pena surprised me last night as he made an incredible save to deny Real Madrid a goal in the match. I have said before that Inaki Pena is a good goalkeeper, and all he needs is time to improve, and we will see the best from Pena. Pedri was also top class last night, and I have a post specifically for Pedri which I drop soon. Barcelona is the favorite to win it all in every competition they participate in this season, and I am looking forward to seeing what Hansi Flick and the boys will achieve at the end of the season. So, guys, that will be all for now. Thanks for coming, and have a good day.
